Thanks for the input,
Well, I'm 12.5-13 stone and 5ft 10in. The bike has the original AC03
front and the rear was the original AC04 mileage approx 5000. I've
just replaced the rear with an Avon roadrider as the AC04 appears to
be unavailable at the moment, according to my local dealer. The
shimmy problem is the same with both new avon and worn rear ac04
tyre. I've also tried various rear shock adjustments but have had no
luck.

Hi Pete, good luck with your W.
The shimmy is normally a product of a worn front tire coupled with
a rider
larger than the average Japanese, for whom the bike was originally
designed.
Let the group know your height and weight and I am sure others will
chime in
with feedback on tire and suspension interplay.
The cough is most likely a symptom of the W's lean-or-rich mix
(depending on
RPM). If you stay here any length of time you'll be reading a lot
about
this. Others will comment - I am less than expert in this area.

Hello everyone, just got my W650 a few weeks ago and a couple
of issues
have arisen. probably been dealt with before but who knows.
Handlebar Shake: when throttling back from 50+ or so mph, the
handlebars give a wobble/shake at between 45-50mph, ok if you've
got
both hand on the handlebars, but if for some reason you don't,
there is
a noticeable shimmy until the speed drops to 40-45mph. Thought it
mught
have been down to a worn (very) rear tyre, but a new one has made
no
difference.
Momentary cough: sometimes, the engine gives a 'cough'. It alwaqys
recovers instantly and then won't happen again for the rest of
the ride.
Any suggestions for these issues, or are they all like it?
Thanks
Pete
