?
Jim,?
Don’t count on getting your motorcycle past the gate! Facing the peak, there’s a drop-off on the left side and boulders obstructing the right side.

It’s gated one mile from the old tower.

?

The road to it needs high clearance vehicle and if wet wants 4x4.

?

Great views!

I'm STILL trying to figure out which summit will be my first.....and I'm curious if anyone has done SE-35, St Peters Dome, recently?? And if it's possible to drive right up to the peak, as it appears to be on Google Earth?

Liked this activation as LOT.? Short as in six tenths of a mile, but up 700 feet steep, good trail, wonderful views, but that’s not all.

?

Turned out to be covered by ruins dating from 500 to 1400 AD.

?

?

HIGHLY recommend this for an activation near Flagstaff

We have not been to this area since the fires. Roads up to Lookout were in excellent shape last trip. I will report on conditions on after action. Nice parking right on top. see previous pics? Weather should be mostly sunny with temps in low 70's and breezy.? QRV around 1800 UTC? WB5USB Geo...

The FS roads up to W5N/SE-022? 9599 are in good shape all the way to parking on the ridge line, just .4 miles from the summit. The .4 mile trail up to the summit is very well traveled and in excellent shape. The top has lots of pines and grassy areas to set up ops. see pics for fun Despite some QSB, band conditions for me we good. Make a couple of DX contacts to F4 and G3.

Don’t you guys look at the SOTLAS peak site before an expedition?? There you will find very specific directions, coordinates, and photos of the cache, hi hi.?

Last time I was there, much lion sign along the trail.

Fascinating summit with all the marble rock. The final mile or so to trail head parking is almost impassable. To navigate this area you will need high clearance, 4WD, Low range, and lockers. If you can't make the final climb to parking, the hike over becomes a mile or so longer than the .8 mile hike over to the summit we took. Nice hike over on the old road/trail. We looked for the SOTA cache, but did not find it. Should have written down its coordinates. see pics for fun...73 all WB5USB Geo

Some semi-unrelated trivia… The airport on the island of Saba in the Caribbean requires STOL aircraft. Some claim it’s the world’s shortest commercial runway. Witnessed a small plane landing there - yikes! Good brakes ?
