Don and I departed my QTH around 0800 en-route to trail head parking at the gate. Our goal was to activate then get back down before the p.m. rains/storms. Roads were in good shape to parking. From parking it was a 1.4 mile hike to the summit. The old FS road is becoming over grown. (see pics) I set up my antenna and discovered I could hear no noise. Turned out my matching unit had broken at the center feed of the BNC connector.? No worries, I just used Don's after he was finished. After about an hour of working stations it started to cloud up with lightning strikes and showers just west of us. We packed up and headed down but ran into rain showers on the way back. Always a nice summit to work with great views.
