Re: Move to Windows 11
Michael,
I'm running the same version of SKCC Logger on a Windows 11 desktop. Using DM780, it's all working just fine. When I enter a call in DM780, it populates the SKCC Logger. When I log iti n HRD, The SKCC Logger clears and the QSO shows up in the SKCC log file ok.??
Since the SKCC Logger clears when you log the QSO in HRD, it looks like all the commands are getting to the SKCC Logger ok.
?
Try this - Put a callsign into DM780, hit TAB or ALT and let it populate the SKCC Logger, but don't log it in HRD yet. Look closely at SKCC Logger to see if any data seems to be missing. Then click "Log It" in the SKCC Logger and see if it logs ok in SKCC.
?
You could also try running Lookup "As Administrator" and see if that helps. It shouldn't require that, but it might be something about permissions in your Win 11 installation.
?
Offhand I can't think of any reason why it would do what you described, but I'll keep tinkering and see if I can find anything. Please let me know if either of the above suggestions make any difference.

Re: Move to Windows 11
Michael-
I haven't really kept up with updates of the SKCC Logger. It's quite possible that Lookup is not compatible with the current version of SKCC Logger. Which SKCC version are you using?
I don't think there's anything about Windows 11 that should cause your problem.
I'll update my SKCC Logger and check it out.

Move to Windows 11
I have been using W4ELP software successfully for a while now but with a Windows 10 configuration.? I have recently moved to Windows 11 and have been seeing some issues.? I use this in conjunction with Ham Radio Deluxe and specifically DM-780.? As I log a contact, I can see it populate my SKCC Logger, but when I click on ADD (F7), the log entry on SKCC Logger clears but does not append to the Logger file.? It does only if I add it from the SKCC Logger window.??
?
I have printed my configuration from my Windows 10 machine and from what I can see all is the same.? Is this a Windows 11 issue, a W4ELP issue, an SKCC Logger issue or Pilot Error.??
?
Any help would be appreciated.?? |

Re: QRT notice
Thanks for your comments, Rex. That's a really good suggestion. On the first cut of the program, it did drop "QRT" spots, then I decided to leave them on the display.? IT's not so bad when sorting on spot age because most spots over 10 or 15 minutes old are QRT anyway, and they're all grouped to the end. But when sorting by frequency, I find the same thing - looking for someone that is already QRT.?
?
I think I'll put a checkbox or something in the options to hide or display "QRT's".? You can watch for a new version soon.

QRT notice
Request - but first this is some great software.? for hunters it get to the meat and does it quick - also love the link to HRD instant change to the spot freq and ready to go!!! but?
the list needs to be immediately upated when someone puts QRT in their own spot or comments and that call and park dropped out or put into a different spot (bottom of list??
several times I have gone looking for a call and find it and - oh it went qrt 15 or 25 minutes ago - if qrt no need to keep on list.? just and idea to put on the "todo" things.? Keep up the good work?
man I love this thing.

W4ELP Lookup v9.18.1 update
The W4ELP Lookup program has been updated to v9.18.1. There was a bug which caused CQ macros to be terminated right after starting, if Limiter was blank or set to zero. Either blank or zero SHOULD have disabled the CQ Limiter and allowed unlimited CQ's. This has now been corrected.
?
As always, please report any problems or bugs.

Re: New POTA Watch v26.0 available
Steve,
HRD only allows me to do set the frequency - not the mode. AC Log does allow both frequency and mode control.
?
HRD's Rig Control has DDE capability and an API which should provide control, but I can't get either of them to work. I am doing frequency control in HRD by simulating key strokes - admittedly a very poor way to do it. It does work, but hopefully I'll eventually find the key to the better methods.

Re: New POTA Watch v26.0 available
Hey Ed,
?
I am using a TS-590SG through HRD. The band / freq switch works however it doesn't change mode.?
?
I tried to get my print screen to capture the page but it not working right now, On a digital FT4 contact, I could not get the QSO to log to HRD. I am running HRD, WSJT-X, and Gridtracker. (Spot did upload)
?
On SSB, I made a contact with a park on 40M SSB, contact logged to HRD and spot was uploaded.
?
Good job Ed, 73

New POTA Watch v26.0 available
POTA Watch has been updated to v26.0. Frequency and Mode control are now available via N3FJP's AC Log in addition to Ham Radio Deluxe. Selecting a spot sets your VFO to the spot frequency and sets Mode to match the spot.
?
NOTE: Mode control is a bit tricky and I only have 2 radios to test it on. So if you have any issues with mode control, please report them. For this reason, mode control can be turned on or off separately from frequency control.

Re: POTA Watch v25.1 VFO Control Question
Good question Tony. You're correct. The program is designed to do vfo control via HRD. I think I could modify it to do what you're asking, but that will take some significant coding. No promises, but I'll look into it as a possible upgrade. On Sat, Jan 4, 2025, 12:08?PM NY2A via <ny2a.radio=[email protected]> wrote:

POTA Watch v25.1 VFO Control Question
Only my second day using this app and already a second question.? This time concerning VFO control.
?
Am I correct that VFO control is only available through v25.1 in conjunction with HRD software?? As you may know, I log with N3FJP, which exercises VFO control through OmniRig.? Is anyone aware of a workaround whereby I can get v25.1 to control my VFO through OmniRig?
?
