Three of the W4ELP programs have been updated today, 19 Nov 2022. The Lookup program has some minor updates and maintenance items - nothing major.? Both the NetLog and POTALog programs are updated to ensure that they do not erase existing W4ELP programs upon installation, and that they will do a proper and complete shutdown if the "X" is clicked in the upper title bar. This will prevent a "ghost" instance from running in the background and causing an arror message on next startup.
No operational changes in any of the above.

If you close the program by clicking the "X" in the upper right corner, it doesn't actually close - it just disappears, but leaves the program running, so if you start it again, you get the message. If there's a "ghost" copy left running, you can click in the riight corner of the task bar to show hidden icons, then right click the "ELP" icon and click on "Exit". this is a testament to my lack of programming expertise.
If you click the "Exit" button on the window, it does close correctly. I think the POTA program is the same way.
Looks like I need to tweak them a bit and fix that.

Installed and used the NetLog app today, very nice!? I love the ability to keep notes on each participant and have them repopulate next go around.
One question.? I am getting an instance warning which says to "see #SingleInstance" in the help file to correct.? I have read and re-read the manual
and can't find a reference to that.? Assuming maybe it's a line I need in the .ini file???

In this forum, go to Files > Program Files then look for the POTALog Setup file.

That did it,? Install went well with latest file.? One thing I am having a problem with is the when I hit "Click to view Park List file"? I get an error pop up.? "Error: Failed attempt to launch program or document:"
No big deal, it is really slick for a quick POTA Log.

I think it's fixed. POTALog v1.5.1 is posted for download. The program itself is unchanged. I used an older version of the installer which does not require uninstalling a previous version. My programs are written to allow the new version to overwrite the older one.?
If you already tried my last suggestion and was successful, you're good to go and don't need to install it again.

There's something about the installer that I'm using. It's probably the way I am configuring it. I thought it was fixed, but just got the same results as you.
For now, I suggest that you go ahead and let POTALog uninstall the bridge, then continue and install POTALog. Then download and reinstall the bridge (W4ELP Lookup). I just tried it that way and it worked.
Sorry for the problems. I'll go through the installer and get it fixed as soon as I can.

Still wants to un-install the HRD Bridge.? It asks if I want to replace .16. with .15. and says I must uninstall first.? Also noticed the file size of the POTA app is exactly the same size as yesterdays.? Not sure if it would have changed just a little.

Hi Gary,
I discovered the same thing after uploading yesterday. I have removed the uninstaller and reposted the POTALog program. Give it a try and hopefully no conflicts. I just tried it and it seemed ok.

When I try to install the POTA app I get a pop up that says that it is already installed.? Seems that my PC thinks that the Bridge to HRD software is the same thing.? It wants to uninstall it before allowing the POTA program.

Hi all!
I have posted 2 new apps for download for those interested. These are simple, stand-alone apps for specific applications.
First is W4ELP's POTALog. It is a small, simple program for POTA activators. It can be used in the field during activation, or after the fact to transcribe hand-written logs to an adif file ready for upload to POTA. The file can also be imported into your main logging program. Documentation is included.?
This is a stand-alone program and does not require Ham Radio Deluxe.
Also a copy of the user manual is posted in the Files > Documents section of the forum.
For you POTA activators out there....I hope you find it useful.
Second one, NetLog, was developed for my own convenience. I participate in a daily roundtable QSO of 3 to 5 or 6 stations. I like to keep lots of notes and found it very difficult to log multiple stations. This program allows you to keep track of up to 10 stations at a time and keep unlimited notes for each one as well as to view a history of notes and QSOs for each station. It produces an adif file that can be imported into your main logging program. It is not intended to be a "main" logger.
A comprehensive user manual is included. A copy of the manual is also posted in the Files > Documents section of the forum. If you regularly participate in roundtable QSOs or nets, you may find it useful.
Both of these programs are quite specialized, so they may or may not be of interest to you unless you do roundtables or you're a POTA activator.

I¡¯m no expert and maybe of little help, but I was never able to work CW (TX) just using the SignaLink USB and HRD. ?I had to use a WinLink interface to make HRD send CW and with all the changes HRD has made to their program that was not even working. ?
Try PSK or another digital program to see if you¡¯re correctly connected and interfaced.? I¡¯m using a RigBlaster on my main station and was surprised to find it will TX CW with HRD.

Hi all, I'm new to the group as I'm having an issue with DM780 and my Yaesu FT-897 so I beg forgiveness if I'm off topic or not using a correct format for the group.
I'm using a Signalink USB interface between my laptop and radio. I've only tried CW so far.? My radio is connected to HRD/DM780 as it can change frequency etc...? I had some gremlins networking and sharing the log on two computers during Field Day. No need to go into the details but W4ELP saved the day for me. I wish I had the time to learn all the functions before FD but I kept the hotkey list handy. Great piece of software.

I want to import a Notepad log to W3ELP log, however I can't locate the Notepad on the import so I can add to N3ELP log.? I have Windows 11 BTW.? I can find and click on the logo but the computer can't find it.
