Dennis - my dearest ham radio buddy, has had a number of operations for cancer. He is? on a heart pump? and 3 weeks ago at a past VFW Commander's funeral, Dennis informed me he has his kidneys shutting down. He can no longer walk and is in a motorized wheel chair. He's be air flighted to Kansas City 2-3 times this past year. Dennis is a Vietnam Veteran. and for those reasons I think a plaque that normally is mounted on a wall, just wouldn't be proper as he's not often in the ham shack or would hang it on? some wall in his house.? Because of his situation he basically is in a? recliner during the day and a hospital bed at night. The Acrylic award like "statue" would can easily be placed on a night stand or coffee table and should he be hospitalized, placed at his bed side? to remind him we all care.. I am sure he would be proud of it.? and can easily be taken in his back pack. For that reason, I favor the Acrylic award... I am open to all suggestions from all the members. The Acrylic awards are available in many configurations and some are even lighted.. Would make a nice night light. I still have not heard from the manufacturer if they can engrave a SLASHED ZERO... The award engraving company has numerous Acrylic awards of various sizes and shapes.? Anyone can view more of those items including the light up ones at: Enjoy the evening all, Larry W8LM. ?
