Locked Re: VHF REPEATER NOT THE PROBLEM.. Problem.

THe only thing that will be in the tower is a 3ft microwave dish at 40-45ft. The tower has a top section and i have a 15ft pole to go in it. It will be guyed in 3 places to building. The tower is on a concrete slab on the ground and the bottom 10ft has a locking shield so it cant be climbed without unlocking it. I already have a couple of MFJ 916B Duplexers and I also have 2 GP3 antennas here.

Of course I would welcome it. Especially if we got all the ducks in order
on both sides of the fence. Channel 5 and VFW..

#1 Obviously the tower you're installing will have antennas on it for the
TV station.. So would we be able to co-exist and with what antenna?
#2. I would recommend a a Comet GP9 as it is dual band- and best installed
at the top for an omnidirectional pattern.
#3. The cost of a GP9 ($220 in Derby) and the coax ($150)- I'd recommend
Italian M&P Airborn 10- if 100ft. or less total.

They also make larger more expensive coax, with excellent characteristics
at UHF frequencies. I ordered from Italy and had it in 5 days. with
ends installed and swept tested with results. Here is their home page:

#4. We would have to have the blessing of the VFW post as technically,
it's their equipment.
#5. We'd have to pre-engineer-obtain all the premissions to do it.
#6. is the tower free standing? will it be in the ground or on top of the
building? Free standing? Guyed?

It certainally is a viable proposition. all that's needed is manpower. If
we were to use th eanntenna fo rUHF, wby adding a diplexer ($50) and coax
to your office you can have a 2 meter rig on the VHF side of the antenna
