Re: First look, PCB
1. I am have redone the schematic with the leve shifters. at this point, 2. we are not going to have a general purpose 'experimenters area' so, if there is more circuitry coming in, we either put it

Re: First look, PCB
I¡¯d suggested a larger pcb¡ room for the circuits we haven¡¯t realized we need at this time. Very little cost increase at most fabs I¡¯ve used. Then again, time pressure! The MOSFET in the level

display availablility
It looks like the 20x4 as well as the TFT 2.8 inch SPI displays are not going to be as available as the 16x2 displays. the 16x2 and the 24x4 have the same pin outs but the 20x4 is much larger and we

Re: First look, PCB
the board will have to be redone for the level shifters. there isn't enough space on this on the current layout. Let's move the close-by date to monday to get this done. We won't be able to close this

Re: First look, PCB
Bob's design included a 0 ohm resistor to bypass the level shifters. If the level shifters are not obtainable in India I understand the tradeoff greatly goes for getting something out there to start

Re: I2C pullups
Hi Bob, I think both of our arguments are correct. However your argument showing the the 1 voltage level is out of spec is a more compelling yes or no argument than mine with more technical details to

Re: First look, PCB
If the I2C pulls are a must, then we will have to wait for someone to either make a PCB and try it out or for me to get these unobtainable FETs here which may take weeks. In either case, the Indian

Re: I2C pullups
Hi guys, I think I may see where we are missing each other. Ashhar says in an earlier post: Tom, I don't have the components to test this out. The noise levels on the line will not change regardless

Re: I2C pullups
Yes the noise level will not change, but the susceptibility to the noise will be decreased by a improved margin. The voltage range of the 0 and 1 levels on the 3.3 v side is increased on the 5 v side

Re: ALTERNATE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD DESIGNS -- PLEASE DESIGN YOUR BOARD
This is my concern using an I2C pull-up to 3.3V using a 5V processor: From the Atmel ATmega328P datasheet... section 2.8, page 264. Vin High Min spec attached to this message as an image, full data

Re: I2C pullups
Tom, I don't have the components to test this out. The noise levels on the line will not change regardless of the external level shifters. The 0.8v is zero and 1.8v and higher is one. The risk of 0.08

Re: I2C pullups
Hi Ashhar, With the 2.2 k pull-ups it likely is not even necessary to disable the 47k pull-ups, as the 47k resistors will only rase the high voltage by 0.08 volts. However, when the Nano sees a high
