Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
If you want to use vacuum piloting, it will require a direct operating pilot valve that can port vacuum.

Re: CODE FOR AIRWAY PRESSURE ALARMS
HI Folks -- deliverable for today is Marcelo's code WITH AIRWAY PRESSURE MEASUREMENT AND ALARMING ADDED -- as per the modified specifications on the CSSALT page as I produced last night in response to

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
The valve is open. ?This may not be a bad thing because if something fails, the valve will not close and cause suffocation. ?If you want it to be closed, you can leave the irrigation valve spring in

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
Thank you. With NO pressure applied to the pilot control tubing, is the valve OPEN or CLOSED now? Thanks for working on this. Gordon

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
Did not cycle at 20psi, only at breath pressure attempting to detect any resistance or back pressure.

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
I did not cycle as I do not have a pneumatic valve but I did cycle it manually as if there was a pneumatic valve.

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
Your welcome Gordon, I did try the test. ?If you look at my picture, you will see a large hose on the end of the irrigation valve. ?I used this to comfortably breath through the valve and could not

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
cycle at 60 times per minute at 20 PSI inside 1" PVC tube as shown on the build document on CSSALT website

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
Your welcome Dave, I understand, there is nothing special about the valve in the link. ?Any 12vdc three port valve will work. ?Just picked that one because it was low cost.

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
Thank you -- we will have the resistance of that measured. I tried something similar, but not nearly as aggressive. You could save us some time by commanding the valve to OPEN and then telling us

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
thank you MA. exhalation valve must have max flow resistance of 1.5 cmH2O at 60LPM airflow I have not checked local or international availability of the new pneumatic valve; availability is?a

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
No, use the same source you are using for the irrigation valves you are using now. It is still the same valve with the same requirements.

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
So now you need a compressor or some gas supply for the pilot valve operation too¡ Dr. William J. Schmidt - K9HZ J68HZ 8P6HK ZF2HZ PJ4/K9HZ VP5/K9HZ PJ2/K9HZ Owner - Operator Big Signal Ranch ¨C

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
Yeah!!!!! I never looked at the internals of the Orbit valve so this never crossed my mind, but I looked at a Goyen valve ( much more expensive)? ? for the same purpose. Goyen will work the same out

Re: Captain Obvious
Thanks for the update, Gordon. I assume you were referring to C.F. I still have a feeling that the Digikey, Mouser, et. al. inventories could be frozen and directed to the large companies. NightFire

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
This irrigation valve method described will not require any modifications to your current control, PCB or Arduino code.

Re: #ExhalationValve #ExhalationValve
Have a couple of solutions to your exhalation valve problem. ?What I originally heard is the irrigation valve has too much back pressure. ?Because it is a piloted operated valve. I have an Orbit

Re: Testing I2C connection to BMP280
The connection is low enough impedance where it should not matter. Twist the wires helps with common mode rejection. Dr. William J. Schmidt - K9HZ J68HZ 8P6HK ZF2HZ PJ4/K9HZ VP5/K9HZ PJ2/K9HZ Owner -

Re: Using TRIACS instead of AC relays with motors and vacuum cleaners
We will need to trigger it on AC zero crossing. We will need one digital line for that

OK,? the tests above were with 5.0 VDC feeding the Adafruit board (which has level shifters built in) Now I test using 3.3VDC to feed the Adafruit board (still using the level shifters)? ?Attached
