Manually edit HF channel list?
Daniel,
?
No need to edit Channel List ......You can customize frequency ranges and exclude callsigns from within VARA!? On the SETTINGS screen open "Automatic Connection Settings" and you will find input area for "Allowed Frequency Ranges" and "Exvluded RMS".

Subject: [VARA-MODEM] Manually edit HF channel list?
?
Is it possible to manually edit the HF channel list? ?In particular, I would like to remove HF channels I will never use (e.g. 80m band). ?This will make the auto-channel select feature more useful in my case. |
I am not seeing this. * Which "settings' button?? 1. I do not find it under the main screen "Settings."? 2. If I chose VARA HF and open a session: I see how to add or subtract from "Favorites."? Is this what you mean? Under the session "Settings" there is "auto-connect setup ... It does have maximum Pactor level (interest...). So far I have not gotten the "Allowed Frequency Ranges" and "Exclude RMS" to alter the appearance of the long frequency list seen under "Channel Selection."? I am asking under the principal that If I am not seeing it, others may be having trouble as well. I have found lately ( sometimes) people jump in before reading the entire question and then give a non-applicable answer. Hopefully I did not make this same error.? |
My error where I say "...from within VARA"! As pointed out, the settings menu is within Winlink Express! Very sorry about that!73, -Lee-

Note that you can have multiple lines with small groups of frequencies enabled if that would be helpful. ------ Original Message ------

Yes, it was very helpful. ?When I operate in the field with my IC-705, I typically use my JPC-12 vertical antenna. Although it will operate on many bands, none below 7MHz and different bands need to be tuned manually. ?So when I setup I tune the antenna for the 40m band because I find that works best for Winlink. ?It's so much easier to let winlink do the work and find an open channel.
