Does VARA work without WinLink?
I'd be interested in trying VARA to link two G8BPQ nodes in MSWIndows.? Each station, so far, has a Raspberry PI and some plain old TNCs.? I'd like to use VARA on HF to do BBS message forwarding

Host Program specific. BPQ and RMS (Winlink) Express are host programs. I don't do RMS Express, so I wouldn't be able to provide much help for users who run it and are having difficulties with

Dave, Yep tried the alt-tab key nothing came up winmor runs flawlessly its just vara and I can't connect to anything there is no way to start the transmission without the screen to click on

Yes, that's what the VARA modem Graphic User Interface (GUI) looks like. Does RMS Ex. hide the modem window for Winmor? What might be happening is the host program, RMS EX., hides the modem graphic

Jeff, Are you using a desk top or a lap top? Tell me about the display. Could it be that VARA is running but you just can't see the graphic? Look at the VARA.ini file in the VARA directory and see

I¡¯m not getting any error messages it starts loading then the screen disappears but it does say VARA is active but unless the screen is visible you can¡¯t connect to anything or view settings

Are you getting an error message that it can¡¯t find Vara.exe? Normally RMS Express gives that error message with an opportunity to correct the path or download the Vara package. Not getting that
