Re: VARA? Disconnects USB Keyboard
Have you used Jtsync or some other clock syncing program? Until I used Jtsyc my WJST would not decode. Using that and naming my com ports has me working all platforms: Winlink, VARAC, VARA, Fldigi, etc. Greg? Not familiar with your rigs and configuration, but when Win 11 came in I had all sorts of digging into my setup to get back to functioning. Greg? I get USB C disconnect when transmitting VARA FM and a Digirig sound card connected to a HT that is not in my hand or with a tiger tail counterpoise¡.so it is likely an RFI interference issue for me¡and maybe you. When I make sure I have a good counter, my USB stays connected fine.? |

Re: VARA? Disconnects USB Keyboard
Hi,
???? Windows Update is not an issue here.? The COM port works fine.? Scanning through 8 frequencies works well.? VARA TUNE puts the radio into Tx mode.? The waterfall works fine.? But when the VARA HF modem starts, the USB Keyboard no longer works.? When VARA HF is closed, the keyboard works.? But only on the Jupiter radio configuration.? I did a complete delete and reinstall of RMS Trimode and VARA HF.

I find I have to use devise manager to assign specific names to my com ports as well as windows 11 sound mixer to keep the auto updates from messing?upy ports.? VARA? Disconnects USB Keyboard
Hi all,
???? Well possibly.? I start RMS Trimode connected to a TenTec Jupiter with VARA HF.? After that my USB keyboard won't work.? Does this sound familiar to anyone?? Possibly related but Norton 360 also want approval for VARA to work on the PC.?
???? This does not happen when I run Winlink Express VARA HF or VARA HF P2P connected to an ic7100.?? Nor RMS Trimode on an ic718 with VARA HF.

Assuming that the SignaLink 'PTT' LED matches the 'transmit' state of the radio, you need to increase the transmit audio level from the computer to the SignaLink.?
?
You can do that with the "Drive Level" slider on the "Drive Level Calibration" screen and/or with the output ("Playback") level control for the USB PNP device associated with your SignaLink, on the Windows "Sound" control panel... increase the output level until the SignaLink 'PTT' lights up at step 2 or 3 of the "Auto Tune" sequence.?
?
After you adjusted the audio output level for proper SignaLink PTT activation, you may need to back off the setting of the TX knob on the SignaLink. Once you're able to connect with a nearby gateway or P2P station, the "Auto Tune" utility will help you find the best setting.
?
Once you've got the tx audio levels set for reliable VARA FM connections, you shouldn't need to change them for Packet operation.
