Keep in mind that the VARA modem is adaptive.? It will start out at a high rate and the sending station will transmit a five second data burst, the receiving station will then transmit a short ACK burst that ends with a go faster or go slower indicator.? This depends on how much?error correction or?retransmission request the receiving?station encounters.? There may?be a bottleneck somewhere in your path,?either RF (only 10 Watts) or in your WiFi link..

Good evening all,
?
I have a similar situation, but different set up.? I am running an IC 705 (10 watts).? I have it connected wirelessly to my MacBook (I can either direct connect or via router).? VARA HF and Winlink are running via VMWare Fusion on my MacBook M2.? It is a pretty slick setup--as I can play radio anywhere I want.? When I connect, I will often start out at around 1000 BPM, then after each "packet" is sent the speed progressively gets slower and slower.? On the final packet, I might be down to around 100 BPM.? At first I thought it may have been deteriorating propagation, but this happens with every connection.? If it was RFI somewhere, I wouldn't expect to be getting a great BPM for the first few "packets." ?Half of the message is complete in the first "packet." ?Any suggestions?

Thanks,
