HELP with FRET SAW Guide

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hi All,

?

This latest string about the Unimat DB/SL Sabre saw and Fret saw has reminded me that I could use some help from the group. ?

?

The blade guide ¡°tube¡± for the Unimat fret saw appears to really be just a rod with a slot in it to guide the blade.? There is a short tube (possibly split at the back) that fits over the bottom end of the rod to keep the blade captive in the slot.? (Please see the attached illustration and instructions.)

Unfortunately, my own Unimat fret saw was missing the guide rod when I received it and I will have to make one (as I have never seen that part come up for sale).? If anyone does have this part, I would greatly appreciate it if you could measure it (length, diameter, slot width and slot depth) and send me the dimensions. ??

?

With many thanks,

?

Jerry F.

Sorry it took a minute to get back to you.
The rod with the slot in it is 6mm diameter,? 95mm long, and the slot runs top to bottom approximately 3mm deep and the width of a machinists scale plus a little bit.
The sleeve that is slid over the rod is 7.5mm outside diameter and 25 mm long.? A very tight press fit on the rod.

The sleeve should be a tight fit but still able to rotate
When doing internal cuts rotate the sleeve so gap lines with slot
allows you to pull blade forward to feed through work
then rotate to retain blade in slot

I found the same dimensions on the rod.? Just the diameter is somewhat larger on mine: 6,20mm. If required, I could send a picture.
