Hashtag test #unimat3

This message / topic has the (already defined) hashtag #unimat3 added through the web interface (the '# Add Tags' button to the right of the subject field in a 'New Topic'). When you select one or more hashtags and add them they appear (in the web browser interface anyway) at the end of the subject line.
?
Adding them looks like this in the interface (you can also see the 'Hashtags' item in the menu, on the left):
?
?
I'm interested to know where (if at all) they appear in an email (in the subject line?), and if they 'persist' across multiple posts (replies). Could someone reply to this please?
?

Yes they are working fine on my email.
?
Phill
?

Yep, and they come through fine on my ancient email client.
?
This implies that if you are using an email interface to post to the list you just have to add the hashtag to the end of the subject line...
?
I have no idea if you can add a hashtag that doesn't exist in the hashtag list (the list may just be a helpful suggestion) so I'll test it here by adding a second, non-existent hashtag.

Hmm.? You can add a hashtag to the end of the subject line but it means nothing unless it is a hashtag which is defined in the Groups.io web interface.
?
What are hashtags for?? Well, you can (in the web interface) filter by them
?
?
by selecting them from the list of defined hashtags...
?
You then get a filtered list of posts with that tag:
?
?
which is not many in this case, as you can see.
?
I guess this is only useful if
?a) relevant tags for the different models (or subjects) are set up
?b) people tag their topics accordingly
?c) people use the web browser based interface
?
So a pretty pointless exercise on my part, somebody please delete it after a few days? :-)
