Re: What on earth are these?
That's exactly what they are. There is a piece missing, which is the doming block (or blocks, in most cases). A full new set at Harbor Freight is less than 40 bucks. I would not pay much for this

What on earth are these?
Looks like they could be for beating metal to a dome shape¡ but I have no idea. They were pictured with a lathe so probably metal-working related.

Re: Off Topic measuring units
I may disagree, 0 is the temperature of your perfect whiskey, 100 your perfect tea! Carlos

Re: Off Topic measuring units
Hi Gang: While it is not the basis of the Fahrenheit scale, I like to think of it as a human scale. Below 0? and above 100? are both life threatening. Carl.

Yes, the spindle height is greater. But it does use some of the same accessories. I don't recall which ones. Martin P.

Hello Manuel: Welcome to the group. I am ashamed to say my only language is English. I know just a bit of French, and really should learn Spanish, as many of my neighbors speak it. I just turned 70

Re: Headstock spindle spring
Hello Martin: I never use the spring even when using the Unimat as a drill press. 6mm is just too much stroke to give up. I have looked at boring a hole in the head stock for an internal coil spring.

Re: Opinions Sought (Cross-Posted)
I had that nameplate on a previous SL in England. I don't think it is anything unusual. Ten¨ªa esa placa en un SL anterior en Inglaterra. No creo que sea nada inusual.

Re: DC Motor for unimat SL
Yes, I used a 130 W motor, and that was fine. The difference between 120 and 130W hardly matters.

Re: DC Motor for unimat SL
I use a 12v 120W motor for my SL and it's more powerful than the original motor. 24v DC x 120W should be more than enough power, unless you're really pushing the SL. Les -- Les Orton Calle Jose

DC Motor for unimat SL
All the conversions I've seen everyone is using the 24v DC x 150W scooter motor. I can only find a 24v DC x120W motor locally and ordering online to the island of Borneo takes for ages and costs an

Does the Compact 5 take the Unimat 3 accessories that fit on the bed? ?The prism looks to be the same profile.
