So my last message probably won¡¯t make any sense at all. Sorry. I was trying to explain the email address renaming system that groups.io use.

Not sure what the problem is here, all posts to and from the forum go through groups.io, so the ¡¯via groups.io¡¯ bit is quite normal.

If for example your email address is abc@... then you may see the address as
abc@...
- which does look pretty weird.

Dick,
I was advised to go with Protonmail but you have to pay a 3 year subscription for it, but it is good for what I do.
Others might have preferences of other providers they feel safe with.

Only thing I know of that Yahoo is doing now is email, "News", and advertisements. Haven't seen anything on the group that looks like it's from an AI. Of course I don't look at their "News" or advertisements.?

Ron,
I feel uneasy about having my posts ending up broadcasted on other forums without permission. I don¡¯t know if it¡¯s just a weird suspicion or not. I know I can¡¯t prevent it.
I just may have to except it as a part of being an an active member of a group.

Re: Unimat 3 Mill/Drill Attachment Question

Groups.io is not in any way related to Yahoo, It is a completely separate platform.
If groups.io posts are being paraphrased and re posted on Yahoo they are probably being mined and re posted, perhaps in Yahoo's attempt to bolster their hits.
It is possible that anything you publicly post anywhere on the internet may used elsewhere without your permission.

See /g/updates/topic/introducing_groups_io/29 to learn a little more about groups.io.

Re: Unimat 3 Mill/Drill Attachment Question

Dick, you have posted in the group 1,068 times. What, after all those posts, in my response caused you to think it was created by an AI? And if the site is run by an AI, what response did you expect?

Re: Unimat 3 Mill/Drill Attachment Question

OT, where is this comment coming from? I¡¯ve never seen any indication that AI is involved with this group.

Re: Unimat 3 Mill/Drill Attachment Question

I can't swear no one on the group is using AI. I'm certainly not, however. I do post from my cell phone, quite frequently, and do moderation tasks. Spellcheck, despite my efforts to prevent it operating, does mess me up now and then. Though sometimes it helps. I misspelled "moderation" above and it corrected it. It also tried to turn "Spellcheck" into Spellchecker. I caught that. Can't tell you what to do about it, Richard. Personally, I refer to it as "artificial stupid." Maybe it will eventually actually learn to be useful. I won't be holding my breath waiting.
