The way to circumvent a PDF is to import it into a "Word"/similar product and highlight sections of text.
Then paste the text into another document. Then offer that up to "whatevertranslate".
Funny things happen to diagrams/photos so you have to treat them differently.
I do not advocate the stealing of intellectual copyright items incidentally.
Just a thought..
I have my father's copy of "The amateur's lathe" by Lawrence H Sparey, published by the Drysdale press in 1948, the year of my birth. I would commend it. It is based loosely on the Myford but describes most lathe techniques in general terms. It has guided me back on track with my SL 1000 after forty years of in the wilderness, a long time since I completed my, real, apprenticeship.
Just my 2d's worth,
James

Happy that you deem this useful! I would be happy
to scan and upload the Dutch version as well if there would be
an interest for it.

I
can't help you with the English version but the same
publication was also issued in German and in Dutch (see
cover page attached); there may be versions in other
languages as well, I only have the German and the Dutch
versions.
?
If
anyone would care for the German version I'd be happy to
upload my copy (just a bunch of 26 individual scans of the
52 page booklet) onto the? files section.

Does
anyone have a copy of the book "Basic Technical
Information and Practical Applications of the Unimat 3"?
?
I
saw it in the "HobbyProducts_(NeilsCompressed).pdf"
catalog from the files section, but can't find much at all
about it online. It seems to have only been mentioned once
in this group.
?
If
anyone has a PDF I'd be grateful. Or if you have a
physical copy, I'd be interested in helping you get it
scanned.
?
Thanks!
