Sherline has adjustable handwheels for their metric lathes, but they cost about $50 plus shipping and I don't know the the size of the shaft hole.

I was able to spend some time on the Little Machine Shop website earlier today and found a dial and handwheel that are listed as replacement parts for some Micro Mills. The dial shown has 40 graduations and the hand wheel has no handle on it. There are no details as to how they work together but appear to be friction type. I called there for more details and they have a voice message saying the shop is closed due to the fires. As far as a 40-graduation dial goes, I could manage to use it on the cross feed because it does not travel a great distance. Most of the work I do is not that precise and will always need checked before it is finished. ?At best I consider myself "amateur" but am looking for a dial that I can re zero during the cut. At this point it looks like this modification will be a combination of purchased parts that will need to be specially fitted to the lathe. Thank You, Frank? ?
