Ha ha.? Didn¡¯t at all mean it that way.? But from a learning metal work perspective one of the best things that ever happened to me was discovering David ³Ò¾±²Ô²µ±ð°ù²â¡¯²õ ¡°Build a metal shop from scrap¡± series.? Charcoal foundry, scrap metal and so I made the propane gas fired version that came later in the series and build his son¡¯s power hack saw and slip roll using those two tools to cut and form the metal for the foundry.
?
? My drill press had a hole drilled down the middle of the spindle by a friend with a lathe and from there I had a draw bar to hold MT-3 tools and could mill castings.? The end result the Gingery Lathe but not with gears since that required building his milling machine and shaper projects.?
?
Instead I designed and build an electronic lead screw.? And I have that with both axis controlled on the Gingery Lathe and the Z axis on the South Bend Heavy 10L.?
?
I was going to install it on the DB-200 too after I put it on a friend¡¯s Sherline but so many other projects including a knee mill that now runs LinuxCNC took over.? Maybe one day.
