I imagine that depends on who you ask and what you want to do with it. I've never used a DB/SL but I'm very happy with my U3 and wouldn't swap it for a DB/SL as they look intrinsically less robust and accurate especially bearing in mind that any DB/SL is going to be older than a U3 and therefore potentially more worn. I assume that the more robust bed of the U3 allows for deeper cuts which will save time. I also suspect that you will be more likely to get new (non-original) spares such as chucks and centres for a U3. Having said that the DB/SL does have a couple of extra accessories compared to the U3. I'm assuming that the capacities of the U3 are a little better than the DB/SL. So many variables!
