Very nice Carl, thanks for the link. Just a very brief view of your workshop though¡
Twenty years or so ago we watched (rather the worse for wear after an ¡®occasion¡¯ the night before) all day back-to-back episodes of Mark Found¡¯s ¡®The Garden Railway¡¯. He builds a G scale layout in his back garden but what¡¯s especially nice about the program is that he goes out and looks at other outdoor railways, some quite large. The whole series is on YouTube I think.
The wife had bought me a OO starter kit and we started planning a layout, making buildings and painting little figures. Space was very limited though, it was going to have to live under a bed and slide out (the bed even purchased for the greatest clearance - a church with steeple would just fit). We never took it further though¡ too tricky to work out, and life and other hobbies got in the way.
I was briefly intrigued by N gauge and it¡¯s compact possibilities but unfortunately the price of the rolling stock isn¡¯t to scale! Still got too many other hobbies though¡
