The 2nd version of the RapidDrive is a vast improvement and I recommend it to anybody who might try to use a Unimat for multiples that requires a lot of handwheel spinning.

It's nothing more than a long 1/4" mxl belt, an idler pulley and a tensioner. with it I can move the carriage 1"/sec all day.

Kevin that is neat using a tire tread depth gauge.?After looking at the aluminum one, that might be a great project to start on once I get the Unimat in tip-top shape, I can already envision how I would design and mill it. I watched your Unimat db200 assembly video, thank you, I learned a bit about the order of reassembly. Your rapid drive contraption looks a bit too involved for me :). I was thinking of using an electric screwdriver with an 8mm socket.? I subscribed to your channel, and can't wait to see what is next.

I updated my design to clamp on to both rods, increased the mass on the angled part, and also included a hole for the lead screw in the middle.?

Thank you, everyone, for the great comments.?
