Could you use 1/8" stainless rod, turning down each end to 2.5mm for threading 7BA?
The pivot hole in the diisc enlarged to 1/8" to suit.?? That has the added advantage of a shoulder to help with location (at right angles to the face) and to provide a firm stop for fully tightening the thread into the regulator face.
