UIview NWS No NWS notices

Bob Davet

I have had this happen the last time a storm came through.
Had one come through last night. I got the yellow frames. I did not get the red alerts of any alarms.

I have the shape files in and correctly configured. I have the correct (new) firenet.us:14580 selected.
I have the correct settings in both INI files from WA8LMF website.

Everything was working. It was great. Now it has just stopped.

I have not made any changes to my settings.

Has something changed and I don't know about it??

Was the storm for certain life threatening? I believe the NWS now only transmits warnings for life threatening storms. Anything less is at the advisory level.

We were getting severe thunderstorm warnings. In the past those would have generated the red alerts.

It could be that something has changed at the NWS about warnings.

In the UI-NWS module, I am seeing Orange watches, Yellow advisories and red warnings for different parts of the country.

If those were sent for my area they should have shown up on my map in what ever color the notice was for and I should have been able to finger the NWS to read what the warning was.
That did not happen for me last night.

Still confused over it.

Do not use NWS. I think my problem has to do with my Setup!

OK, for some reason everything is working now. I have not changed a thing.
Getting the alerts.

New issue with alerts, when fingering the alerts to read the alert, if it is from CLESVRHK6 it pulls the alert so I can read it.
If it is from any other, I do not get the alert message to read. At the moment we have a marine warning going on from CLEMWHG0 and it will not pull the alert. It says it is not found.

Coastal Flood Warning isn't one of the immediate threat types that are
available on the WX finger server.

The only ones you be able to finger are Severe Thunderstorm, Tornado, and
Flash Flood Warnings.
All the winter weather and marine warnings are not considered immediate
threat as far as the WX finger server is concerned..

As for CLESVRHK6, that was a Severe Thunderstorm Warning and is why you
could get the information from the WX finger server.
