Ui-view wx setup question
I'm setting up the weather station in ui-view using my LaCrosse ws-2812u-it station.? I've used it for years with Heavy Weather Pro but recently lost the hard drive on the computer I was using.? I'm now installing on a new computer and ui-view and Heavy weather both working but the wx.txt file called for in the setup is not found.? How do I set or create this file?...thank you..wa2nan..Kerry

Your Heavy Weather Pro software needs to create the file. I did briefly look at the HWP manual but did not find the information. However, once the file is created, you will need to know where the file is stored on your hard drive. Then in UI-View, under Setup > Wx Station Setup under the WX data file, you need to enter the path and name for the file create by HWP.

From what little information I can find it says it should be a .txt file.? I've uninstalled and re-installed heavy weather pro about three times and it installs into program files.? I search the folder and the computer for the wx file and can't seem to find it.? I'll keep plugging away...tnx... -- Sent from Outlook Email App for Android Tuesday, 18 May 2021, 06:59PM -04:00 from "Monty Wilson, NR0A" jwilson16@... : Your Heavy Weather Pro software needs to create the file. Maybe a note to LaCrosse would be worthwhile. Sorry I couldn't help with Heavy Weather. I use a different software, Weather Display.

I use Weather Display also and in the setting section you have to tell the software to create the WXNOW.TXT file and where to put it

Not familiar with Heavy weather so look carefully in any setup section -- John Mc Hugh, K4AG Coordinator for Amateur Radio National Hurricane Center, WX4NHC Home page:- On 5/18/2021 7:14 PM, kerry wrote:

I too use Weather Display for my weather station using my Davis Vantage Pro2 plus . UI-View works well with it. I also have a weather web page, at www.dwayneyamato.com/wx/ Seems to be working well since 2004 when I moved from Illinois to Maui. I was using Davis Vantage Pro in Illinois in the late 1990's with UI-View and Weather Display back then but not a web site until we moved here and upgraded to the current weather station.
