Along with the three WA8LMF UIview webservers (10.149 HF, 144.39 VHF and
145.825 SatGate) that I have up all the time, there is a fourth UI-webserver
that I bring up for special events (balloon launches, hamfests, etc).
The special event server is now online for the 2017 Dayton Hamvention.
Currently it is zoomed to a regional view that spans the area from the old
venue in
Trotwood, Ohio (northwest of Dayton) to the new location in Xenia,Ohio
(south-east of Dayton. On the current map, you can see both the former Hara
Arena location as a grey object in the upper-left corner, and this year's venue
as a cyan object in the lower-right corner. This view should give you a good
sense of the relative position of the two locations that are about 20 miles (32
km) apart.
On the eve of the Hamvention (18 May), I will switch to a high-res aerial
photomap of the area immediately around the Green County Fairgrounds where the
event is now being held, so that the APRS "traffic jam" can be clearly seen.
