UIPath DDE Error
Ev Tupis (W2EV)
I just downloaded UIPath from OneList, installed it, and attempted to
execute it from under the File menu of UI-View. I get an error message that reads, "Unable to establish a DDE link to UI-View" and the window closes. I've looked through the documentation for UIPath, but nothing seems to jump out at me as to the culprit. I am running UI-View in "None" mode and no WinPak, if that helps at all. Any thoughts? One station had this problem and this was there solution to it... === making a UI-Path.INI file on Notepad with my callsign on, followed by two lines of XXXXX and inserting this in UI-View. To my amazement it worked, now I have upgraded to v1.5 there seem to be some extra features, have you made a new help file for this upgrade? If you have I would appreciate a copy. ----- Original Message -----

Just scanning through the messages and saw this, I have recently upgraded to UI-View 2.16b and Winpack v 6.5 and came up again with that same message! The same cure worked again! Regards Fred fnorton2@... -----Original Message-----

Make sure you have installed ui-path in the ui-view directory and no where

else. UI-Path needs UI-View running to work apart from that I have no more ideas ----- Original Message -----

Thanks for trying to help. I'm still having no success. I'm running Windows 98 SR2. I've since tried to have UI-Path *not* startup with UI=View (by changing True,True to False,False in the correct file) and that causes UI-View to start, but not display any map. <sigh> I'd like to gracefully uninstall UI-Path, but don't find any directions for doing so. Is it as simple as removing the files I copied to the UI-View folder? Ev, W2EV Andy Pritchard wrote:

UI-Path presents a list of all the routes it current knows. You have to click on a station on that list to see the map. As for uninstalling yes just delete all files you copied to it. 73 - Andy, G7OCW ----- Original Message -----
