Re: Correct packet path whilst mobile.

From: "Steve Sampson" <ssampson@...>

Here's how to find your correct digi path:

1. Can you hear the WIDE node?
2. Can the WIDE node hear you?

If the answer to 1 or 2 is no, then you need a RELAY.

Have fun,
Steve
Hi Steve,

How can you tell when mobile????!!!!!

theat is why the accepted unproto path WHEN MOBILE is:

RELAY,WIDE...

that gives you the best chance of being relayed.

Fixed stations should NOT use RELAY in their unproto path, for the
reasons previously stated, BUT THEY ALL should have RELAY set as
one of their ALIASES so that they digi mobiles sending to RELAY...

If a fixed station cant get to a WIDE directly they should not
use RELAY before the wide (unless local circumstances mean that
there is no other path due to poor seting up in the area)they should
put in the callsign of the intervening digi station. Also they might
ask that station to set WIDE as an alias so that they see the traffic
that they would otherwise miss!
