My remark about my KPC3+ not "liking" KISS mode was really just made in
passing. I believe that there is something wrong with my TNC. It
operates fine for about 10-minutes. Then, I noticed that UI-View's
screen cleared and all the icons redrew themselves each time a new icon
appeared on the screen. Within moments, I'd get the "overflow error"
and everything would lockup. Last night, I traced it all to the fact
that the KPC3+ would put itself into some mode of "resending" all of
its' information to the TNC, as I watched it happen on HyperTerminal.
It was a strange thing to witness. :o)
So...I performed a hard reset (using the internal jumber) and decided to
play with UI-View in the same mode as I do WinAPRS. . . in "RX-only"
mode, and manually configuring the TNC for PropNET operation (a
developing service in the USA, very similar to the UK's, except we have
abandoned lat/lon in favor of gridsq for location info...for the sake of
shortest possble TX).
I'll revisit using it in KISS mode a little later. This is just a note
to share an experience, not really looking for help resolving KISS, yet.
