Any possibility of moving from X/Twitter to BlueSky?
开云体育Rich has moved over, under the usual handle. There's a "Too Fat Lardies Games" feed that picks up posts tagged with the usual #spreadthelard (I think that's how it works). Chris? ? On Thursday 14/11/2024 at 2:10 pm, cscholti via groups.io wrote:

If you have no interest in using any of these products that's fine you don't have to the game is as good or as bad without them. You choose to use email someone else may choose to use something else, fine. On Tue, 19 Nov 2024, 17:26 ronanr via , <roronannan=[email protected]> wrote: Le 19/11/2024 à 09:29, Chris via a écrit?: |

All these medias move on with time, sadly almost no-one is still using the io email group now.? However TFL have Facebook groups for themselves and the various rule?sets have their own pages. I can understand not wanting to go on X? or twitter.its gone downhill fast since mr Musk bought it. But I would definitely recommend?going on bluesky - there's a big Lardie presence on there?or Facebook if you want a medium where its?easier to follow? thread. Hopefully see you there? Egg? To address the initial post, it looks like the Lard community is finally moving wholesale to Bluesky and abandoning Xhitter.? If you do join the app subscribe to #spreadthelard and also Henry Hyde has built a couple of lists of historical wargaming accounts to follow. Find Henry, find his lists, click "subscribe all" I find the conversation and socializing enjoyable in the Bluesky wargaming community.? If you don't,? that's cool to.? |
I think you are missing the point. ?I want to know what is posted there that I might want to know about, and why is it not posted on the FORUM, or here, or in other places. ?As I have never been on Twitter or BlueSky I do not know what is happening on them, should I?
?
I consider your post very unhelpful. ?I think you are showing bad manners that contribute nothing to this discussion.

Part of the problem is that various people have their preferred avenue for TFL information but there are too many -- Facebook; Twitter/X; BlueSky(now); TFL Forum; io Group; Instagram and who knows how many others. I imagine Richard and Nick just can't keep up with all of them so they have to pick which one(s) have the most followers.
?
In fact, from Richard: "Right. A bit of an announcement. My usual posts on Twitter have been some business related stuff but usually just me being an idiot. I am so utterly sick of the political sewage on Twitter that I have decided that this will be my new home. ?You'll still see some stuff there but I will be here more."
?
I'll be checking BlueSky now. I see a pint of beer so all is good!

It's a different interaction.? There's more casual hobby chat than focused Q&A threads like you get here or on a Facebook Group? There's people showing WIP photos of projects. Photos of games and terrain builds.? There are (I find) amusing "games" to build interaction and find new hobbyists to connect?with, such as "post something green" (here's a Bavarian Jaeger) or "post something with fire" (here's an in game shot of an APC brewing up). And unlike a Facebook Group you can edit who you want to interact?with. Folks will Follow you, but you don't have to Follow back if they mostly bang on about politics or a hobby that you aren't particularly?interested in. But because of the interconnectedness you can find other people with good ideas that aren't here or on the Forum. I hope?this helps explain how they're different.? |
开云体育lol. It’s a Marxist anti American terrorist platform so no. What a wonderful space to share the hobby ???On Nov 21, 2024, at 9:52?AM, Elizabeth via groups.io <jamesmanto@...> wrote:

Chaps. I am not leaving Twitter behind for announcements, I'm just not going to post as much on there on a daily basis as every time I go there I get assailed by politics. Usually British politics, but sometimes global and often very nationalist in nature. I find it all jarring and would prefer to avoid it, so I am trying BlueSky. Whether that is any better, who knows? Sadly where we used to keep a corner of twitter pretty much to ourselves, that seems to be increasingly difficult. Maybe the same will happen with BlueSky.
As Chuck has said, there are too many lines of comms open to do them all very effectively. My post was really just to say that if I am posting pictures of todays bacon sandwich, I am more likely to do so on Blue Sky as I am less likely to be assailed by an aggressive vegan or a Scottish nationalist who things that all bacon has been stolen from Scotland by English colonisers. That's all. TFL announcements will be on Twitter as before and Facebook. Cheers Rich |
