Thought I would post up 2 pics of a solo game I played a couple months ago, and a few minis. This is for Seven Spears - which is a great Japanese Sengoku Jidai (mid / late medieval) mod for Dux Brit.?
I've been working on these minis on an off for about 2 years or so. The plan originally was to get one side done and a buddy the other, but he's struggled with a move back local for work and no space for minis or painting so I decided to get on with a second force myself. I treated myself to a good bit of MDF terrain a while ago which I've enjoyed working on, plants are mostly cheap plastic or sponge and work well. Japan is very green. I still need to work on difficult ground, I was thinking of doing rice paddies but I've got enough to get on with.
As for the game itself, it played really nicely solo. Young buck?Moriyama Yoshiyuki led a foray against a village in the domain of the older and renowned?Katsura Kagetoki, managing to make off with some decent wealth despite some fierce fighting.?
Moriyama Yoshiyuki is looking to make a name for himself and this was a good start to his campaign. It won't be long however until his daimyo's tax collectors show up for tribute.?
For those looking for an alternative period, I've really fallen in love with Japan.?
It will probably be a while until the next game, my wife and I had our 4th child 2 weeks ago so gaming time is greatly diminished. I may try for some small skirmish
