TinyTrak4 Setup as Digipeater 14
Good morning: I think this is my second posting about this question. I have a TinyTrak4 and would like to set it up as a portable Digipeater to cover some of our public service events. This would be a digipeater operating on the standard 144.390 mHz frequency digipeating signals from event units. My hope is to have the portable digipeater set up somewhere to get weaker signals from units digipeated so local Igates to get the positions on aprs.fi. I have the TT4, a radio, PS, and antennas. All I need is the configuration for the TT4. Searching YouTube and the rest of the Internet I have to been able to come up with anything, not even generic digipeater settings that I could experiment with. Any help appreciated, thank you. 73, Carmine, K3CWP

Setting up TT4 for tracker 10
Years ago, when the TT-4 was just in the bata mode Byron had a tracker firmware (tracker644p.TT4) along with the Alpha firmware. I was wondering if that firmware is still available and if it can be loaded into a newer TT4. If not, I am going to need a little help configuring the firmware for a tracker. Thanks for the assistance, Jim, N8JE

TT4 and Windows 11 v24H2 8
I have a TT USB cable and can't find the drivers for the new windows 11 V24H2. Windows update will not find the proper drivers. I already have downloaded and installed PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v1_12_0.zip -from byonics.com and they don't work. Does anyone know where I can find the updated drivers? Thanks, Jim, N8JE

MTT4- Mini available limited supply
As many of you know, we dropped the MTT4-Mini transceiver last year. Recently, an organization convinced us to build a limited number of these for them, and so we built a few extras for those people who have asked about them ( Nothing seems to make a product more desirable than simply cancelling it, but that was not out intent!) For those of you who don't know what it is, it's a stripped down version of the MTT4B transceiver, with a nominal output power of 1.5 Watts, 2 X TTL (only) I/O's, and weighs about 4/10ths of an ounce. It has solder pads for most of its external connections, and a JST Connector for a Byonics GPS 5 OEM module. There is a pre-attached SMA connector. It should be back up on the Byonics web page shortly. 73, Allen AF6OF

Tt4 splitter cable 6
At one point on the website I thought I had seen a splitter cable to be able to connect a computer and a gps to the TT4 at the same time but I can no longer find it. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

TT4 Green and Yellow Lights 6
Hi team. New to the group. Trying to get back into ham radio. I attempted to update the firmware of my TT4, but during the upload, the LEDs became "stuck" on solid yellow and green. I loaded version 7.2 (or it at least appeared to upload), but none of the commands in the terminal window seem to be working, just a constant string of ????? I've read through the posts, and it sounds like the solution is to just wait? Do I wait with the TT4 plugged in and hope that it corrects itself? Just curious because this is really frustrating. I haven't touched my TT4 in around 10 years, and it worked fine before life got in the way. Any advice is greatly appreciated. -- ---------- Mike Freeman KC9JBY

alternate config not working 2
I am helping a friend out who has a MICRO-TRAK RTG-FA (the PCB says V1.8 MT-RTG FA 2014-3-10. We installed a .10 pitch jumper at the SW, and when shorted we would expect that the unit is operating on its secondary configuration. It is not. Verified the jumper takes that pin to ground and verified the secondary config is correct (by reading it back into the TinyTrakConfig v1.4 software). The difference between primary and secondary is only the frequency (144.390 on primary and 144.950 on secondary). The unit transmits on 144.390 regardless of the position of the jumper on SW. Any ideas ? thanks -Kevin (KK4YEL)

Watch dog timer for Tiny Trak Four 3
We use out TT4 as a digipeater ZL1ROT-6 and to monitor our repeater solar system electrics its over an hours drive to and from our 2m Linear repeater site so when the TT4 locks up its a real pain. After it doing it a number of times despite latest firmware upgrades I decided to build a watchdog timer to reset it if it ever locks up . I monitor the Tx red led not the DCD led as I have never come on a situation where the red red had locked on solid, but many times when the DCD orange like is locked on . I use the red led to trigger a reset on the timer so long as the resets continue to happen the timer never reaches its predetermined count and wont do a reset on the power to the TT4 . If the tt4 locks up, it will stop sending packets, the red Tx led wont reset the timer chip (cd4060) and the timer will time out and reset the power. Im sure there are more sophisticated ways i could have built the circuit but its what i had at the time when the device was urgently required ...so far over 6 months we havnt had to go up into the bush 4X4 and do a manual reset cheers mike ZL1BTB http://www.amalgamate2000.com/radio-hobbies/radio/Watchdog%20timer%20.htm

Erroneous Setting Changes on an MT44B 5
I am experiencing a problem changing the settings in an MTT4B. We have a number of these and all have been working well. Problem I am having now is changing the settings on a unit so it can be moved to a different site. I am successfully connecting to the MTT4B using TeraTerm 4.105 in Win 10 and a TT3 cable in the 2.5mm port. I can read the current settings by using the DISPLAY command. When I change a setting using the XXXXXIS Command for some setting this works for other such as MYCALL & LOCATION the setting is not accepted and an erroneous setting is created which then can not be corrected. Here is an example: MYCALL is VK2RWK-1 MYCALL was ISVK2R MYCALL is ISVK2R-1 Any suggestions on what may be causing this?? -- Compton VK2HRX Sydney, Australia

Port Settings 6
I've begun to have my 3-4 yr old MT-RTG FA to fail to be seen by my local digipeaters. I am trying to connect it to the TT3 config v1.4 to check the programming and to "see" if the processor is still alive. When I power up I get 2 green blinks and 1 red led blink and I can hear it send a packet on a local receiver (MT-RTG FA into dummy load) [I have NOT tested if packet is valid by viewing with my FT5D yet]. I am trying to connect to my confuser using the blue USB to serial adapter connected to the DB9 interface cable as follows; Bk-5, R-4, W-4, G-3 (I have swapped W & G several times). My Q. now is-- what bps (baud), data bits, parity, stop bits, & flow control should my port settings be in order for my confuser to talk to the TT3 software & the MT-RTG FA hardware? Thanks in advance for any guidance, Robert AD6XJ

Help for the Cult of Mac
This was sent to me and I thought it might be useful for the Apple-People amongst you. I thought this might be helpful for others with setups similar to mine. I have a MacBook Pro with M1 (ARM architecture) processor and run Windows 11 (ARM) in a Parallels virtual machine. I received my new Micro-Trak AIO-4 today, and though I failed to buy batteries/charger ahead of time, at least wanted to check/modify the programming. I downloaded the FTDI Win11/ARM drivers from the FTDI website but simply could not get them to install following the instructions provided by FTDI (manual install) ¡ª Windows says, unhelpfully, only that it could not install the driver for my device. After messing around with this for about an hour - plugging/unplugging, rebooting, redownloading, rereading instructions, googling, etc. - I stumbled on something super simple that actually worked: After downloading and extracting the driver files for Win11 on ARM processors from the FTDI website, extract the files. Navigate to the directory with the ARM drivers. Right-click on the FTDIBUS.INF file, choose ¡°Show more options¡±, choose ¡°Install¡±. Right-click on the FTDIPORT.INF file, choose ¡°Show more options, choose ¡°Install¡±. TT USB immediately showed up in Device Manager as COM3, and TinyTrak config tool worked perfectly. BTW, the web browser configurator for the MicroFox (I have a 15) is slick - on same MacBook, just download Chrome and DONE. Thanks for making cool stuff. Mike K4ZEC 73, Allen AF6OF

Micro-Fox 15s 3
Can I ask a non-APRS device question here? I¡¯m helping a local educator who received a Micro-Fox MF-15S v2.7 at the 2023 ARRL Teachers Institute and my email to Byonics support went unanswered. Did I catch those guys on vacation? . When we went to set up her device, I noticed one of the pins on the battery connector J2 on the board was missing. Anyone know a part number for that connector so that I can order a replacement from DigiKey? Thanks Clint Miller, K?GR
