Re: Dead / Bricked Tinytrak 4
Next episode: I soldered some wires to MAX202 pins going directly to the CPU. I then connected a TTL/USB serial converter to these wires and were able to go into the menu of the TT4 and here it is, no

Re: Audio receive level
You can use the MONITOR command, it will display numerical values of the input audio level. -- ___________________________________________________________ Geoffrey F4FXL / KC3FRA My Tinytrak Stuff =>

Re: Audio receive level
An interesting write up thanks for sharing it. I recently picked up a TT4 and I agree it would be good to have input level pot. I wonder if the software could display a VU meter of sorts to help with

Re: Dead / Bricked Tinytrak 4
Ok I managed to upload the firmware. Yet the configuration menu stills outputs garbage. Checked with different USB/Serial adapters, same result... Looks like the serial lines have an issue. --

Allen, I do not know where the reset Pin but after a couple of tries I managed to enter the boot loader. There are some garbage characters being sent. Hitting v to get the version only returns

Allen, et al, Thanks for all the great information. Lots to digest. I will disconnect the GPS and see if there is an improvement. I do not recall the coax and GPS being close though. Good to know on

Re: Dead / Bricked Tinytrak 4
Geoff, When you send the "B" while trying to enter the bootloader, what does the terminal screen show? Continuous dots? Anything? It can be difficult to catch the bootloader when you do a reset by

Dead / Bricked Tinytrak 4
Hi Group, I got my hands on this bricked TT4. The person who gave it to me said it was exhibiting erratic behavior (bad decoding, not transmitting). At some point he tried to upgrade the firmware, and

Re: Not recieving packets when car is on
If it is a question of decodability, it's largely a question of signal to noise ratios. Noise always increases with gain, so setting your volume to "11" is not a good thing, as it lowers signal to

Re: Not recieving packets when car is on
Allen, it is a bad practice to keep the wanted signal as low as possible, in contrary to make it immune to noise you should krank it up all the way that the system can process, in this case 800mV. I
