The cable was one from Byron, so I drought it that there is a counterfeit chip in it. ? The problem was that I had too many drivers in my system for the Prolific chip and once I un-install them, it found the right one. ? 73, Jim, N8JE ?

Just in case you have a Prolific cable with a fake chip in it, go to and download driver 3.2.0.0. Prolific made it so the newest drivers will not work on the fake chips. 3.2.0.0 is the work around.?
