I don't see how an APO3 cutting off power would cause a problem with the TinyTrak.? It is no different that connecting and disconnecting power.
?? Was the transmitter on the same APO3???
?? What was the voltage cutoff set to?
I had a"very old" MicroTrack 8k that I had a simple cutoff circuit (not commercial) and a "well used" 12V SLA battery (1.4 Ah) on my bicycle.
Cutoff voltage was 11V, below that the voltage would really drop on TX.
The battery was so well worn, that it didn't last very long and I wanted to make sure I didn't have an issue with the transmitter.
The transmitter would do stranger things with low voltage.

I've been using an Aprsworld APO3 battery cutoff for several years now and during that time i've had several TinyTrak units go bad and stop working. Do I just have a bad one or has anybody else had this problem? I like the idea of not having to run an on/off switch up to the front but not at the cost of replacing a TT3 or even worse a TT4. Has anybody found a battery cut off that works better? This could be the reason why Byonics doesn't sell them? -- 73, Don W4GCW
