It is another gorgeous day here in Ohio.? Yesterday when I had to go?to the eye?doctor, I was wearing shorts and a tshirt.? I am in heaven.? Wearing shorts again today?and I might wear them again tomorrow.? I guess we will see how the?weather is when I?go get my?tatas squished.
?
Nothing going on as usual.? I lead such a boring life.? I have done my chores and laundry is currently going.? I think I will have three loads this time.? Usually I only have one a week.? I only do the towels about once a month since we have so many and I want?to do a whole load instead of a few towels.? Also have a few sheets to do.? I?use a fitted sheet on my?chair (was my mom's) and it is light off white and the cats leave black hair?all over it.? That is why I use the sheet.? I also use a fitted sheet for a table cloth when I have all the kids.? It also keeps all the cat?hair?off the actual table.? Duane and I don't even sit at the table anymore.?
?
I have been a stitching fool the?last?week.? I am on the fourth cat on my rainbow kitty project.? I am moving along much faster than I thought I would.? I am going to have to start looking for something to keep me busy when it is finished.? I have a few best friend things I want to do to hang with Holly's?picture.? The 19th will mark a year that she has been gone.? That is going to be an ugly ugly day for me.

Well, I guess I better go?switch the laundry and get this mail all finished.

Well, it has been an interesting afternoon so far.? I was checking mail, specifically my bank account, and was alerted?about?fraud on my account.??Someone used my card at Monopoly.com and they tried to charge $951.? Thankfully all but one charge was denied.? I had to go through the fraud department and now there will be an investigation to see if they can?prove it was fraud.? Wow.
The only place that charges for parking around here?are the hospitals in Boston
We always did valet....it was the same price other than?the tip and so worth it?to not worry about parking.

Where Rick went for his cancer treatment....
The parking garage is underneath the building.?
And at the hospital he had procedures done...
The parking garage is down the street.
Valet is the only way to go  ?
There is a parking garage here in Beverly but it is free and I have never had any problems with parking.

Both my tubal ligation and my gastric bypass?was done via laparoscopy ....just a couple bandaids
I had more sutures when I had my teeth removed  ? ?
I didn't work at a hospital.? I worked at an extended care facility on a locked Alzheimers/dementia unit.
I helped developed the unit.
It was a 40 bed?unit that I ran
I took extra courses after college to become a certified geriatric nurse specializing in Alzheimers and dementia.
?
I did not have the weight loss surgery at our local hospital.....
They didn't do them there then.
Had it done at a bigger hospital about 30 min from here.
Same main medical facility (Lahey)......just a different hospital.

Had my knee done here locally.? I live 2 minutes from our local hospital....literally right down the bottom of the hill and around the corner ?

Surgery was around noon and he was in recovery till 5 ish and when I called they were just settling him in his room. I am going there for 9 ish and expect he will be send home unless something came up over night.
This is his 2nd time and the doctor said at his age they may as well do it again so he can enjoy the results from it for his last few years.....lol?

Matt (my son-in-law) had extra holes than they planned
They found more herniated areas when they went in.?
?
He almost died a few years ago.? A hernia had strangled his intestine and part of it died.
They had to remove a couple feet of his intestine and they told him had he not gone to the ER (with belly pain) when he did....
He might not have made it.

He got to come home right away. ? ?They woke him up but he couldn’t stand or walk so a nurse and I helped him get up and walking and once he started walking he was allowed to come home. ? ?The anesthesia affected his one leg. ? ?We walked around the house a bit and finally he was able to walk on his own again. ? Recovery went well.
Hospitals don’t like keeping you unless they absolutely have to so they boot you out as soon as they can. ? ? I have always hoped they would do robotic surgery o just use a laser for surgery so it’d be done quickly.?

Julie came home the same day from having her thyroid out too.
?
Even total knee replacements come home the same day now.
My dad had partial knee replacements and they kept him overnight but only because he is 91 and lives alone.
He might be in an assisted living but he is still alone in his apt
?
They were going to send him home but my brother talked them into keeping him
?
I know I have said this before but when I had my weight loss surgery....
The rearranged my inner parts on Monday....
I came home Tues....with just bandaids on my belly.
And walked 3 miles on Wed.
And that was like 8 yrs ago
?
Kaylee came home the next day after having Willow in Sept.
If she was born in the morning, they would have gone home the same day

Robotic surgery is gaining popularity, and it seems like a great option for surgery. Surgeons are still there, but I think robots are better because they’re super steady and precise. The surgeon just guides them.
By the way, did they use robotic surgery at the hospital you worked at, Donna? Was that where you had your bypass?

Surgery was around noon and he was in recovery till 5 ish and when I called they were just settling him in his room. I am going there for 9 ish and expect he will be send home unless something came up over night.
This is his 2nd time and the doctor said at his age they may as well do it again so he can enjoy the results from it for his last few years.....lol?

Marc had his hernia done at a hospital and it was outpatient surgery. ? He got to come home right away. ? ?They woke him up but he couldn’t stand or walk so a nurse and I helped him get up and walking and once he started walking he was allowed to come home. ? ?The anesthesia affected his one leg. ? ?We walked around the house a bit and finally he was able to walk on his own again. ? Recovery went well.
Hospitals don’t like keeping you unless they absolutely have to so they boot you out as soon as they can. ? ? I have always hoped they would do robotic surgery o just use a laser for surgery so it’d be done quickly.?

My friend Julie had her thyroid removed on Monday.
(her neck looks like someone sliced her throat  ) ?
My son-in-law just had a hernia mesh repair on Wed.?

It was a beautiful day...... ?Almost no jacket weather
I took hubby to the hospital this morning and surgery was at noon. He just got into a room so he is there for the night.
I made some pasta and will call that supper......lol
