Re: Birthday

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

My mom went to an all girls catholic school for her entire schooling.
She told me once she got into big trouble when her uncle....who was only?4 yrs older than her...
Picked her up from school (she?was in high school)?.
She was seen getting into a car with a boy....OH MY!!! ??
?
My grandmother had to go into the school to tell them it was her uncle....not just "a boy"

I was in Private Catholic schools always. ? From the time I started school at age 5 (1st grade) until I finished my Sophomore year of HS. ? ? I graduated high school at 17 yrs of age. ? The only reason I didn¡¯t attend a Private Catholic school the last two years of High School was there wasn¡¯t one where we were at. ? ?So we went to the local public school.

Not all our private schools are Catholic....or even Christian.
I went to a Catholic school.....was taught mostly by nuns...
?
But the private school we looked into here is not religious at all.
?
Only public schools here are funded by taxes.?
Who knows what will happen now with the govt?getting rid of the Dept of education.
MA is rated the top state for education right now.....hope that does not change.

?In Canada public schools are funded through our taxes, you choose public or?catholic. Catholic schools are funded to grade 10 and then the parents need to pay. I found it funny that when they got to grade 10 the public schools were ok for the catholic kids.....lol

I was lucky......my parents paid for my education but back then it was not as expensive as it is now....
Not even close.....
I went to a private school from grade 1-8 and it cost my parents only $50.00/year.? I can't even imagine what it is now.
We looked into a private school not far from us when Shawn was in pre-school.....so around 2003-4 and back then the school wanted over $15,000.00 per years for kindergarten!!
Insane.....but a lot of people pay it.? It is probably double that now.
?
Went to college with a girl who got all her schooling paid for? plus they paid her for a 40 hr week and all she had to do was work 8 hrs/week.....one shift.
And then she had to work for them for a certain amount of time.....I think it was 3-4 years
She loved her job and I know she stayed there (it was working for the state) for many years.

From what? understand some program paid for her schooling or part of it and she in return needs to work for them for a set period of time. ?Shes fine with that, she has her degree at no cost and is guaranteed work at the usual RN rate of pay. Its win win for her.

It is nice when you can find something you really like to do.?
Your little niche.
I found that working with the elderly.? I loved my job.....didn't always like management or even everyone I worked with but I adored my patients.
?
I hope your granddaughters find something they love doing.

Yes they need to write an exam but from what I understand they know by days end or very soon after.
Yes same here they can work as an RN but not get paid an RNs wage until they have passed.
Mariah was saying the RN' s do the same as the RPN's?. She is hoping to go home to home or hospice. That's where her heart is and not up on the floors.

Congrats to them!
?
Do they have to take like state boards for their RN?
?
I had to go into Boston for 2 days of testing.
Now it is?all computerized but back then....
It was a paper and pencil?test?
<happy2244.gif>
And I had to wait like 3-4 months for the results.
The exam was like 3 months after graduation from college.
I was able to work as a graduate nurse....
No difference in what I could do but they could pay me less until I passed my boards.
Then I had to renew my license every year....
Or maybe it was every 2 yrs....I forget.....

I bought a cake but wasn't a typical birthday cake. It was a blueberry lemon loaf from Costco. I suspect that's what made me sick. Mariah ( grand daughter ) came when she was off work at 7? and brought me a plant and a card and a framed picture of her graduation. She is now an RN. That makes 2 down and 2 to go. ..lol?
