String theory

Did anyone else see a piece on tv last night ( CNN/Time with Jeff Greenfield
narrating) about a mathematician who is trying to prove the "string theory"?
The string theory (which also is being investigated in Quantum Physics)
postulates that everything in the entire universe is made up of teeny little
strings of VIBRATING ENERGY!

These strings are to atoms proportionately as small as a tree is to the
earth. It isn't possible to see them. Physicists are now trying to work out
experiments to prove their existence. They need some cause and effect lab
experiments!

I got excited when I saw the "lead in" about a possible explanation for
everything in the Universe.... the mathematician had a screen on stage full
of pulsating, throbbing images of formless blue lines -- accompanied by a
string quartet playing classical music! I said to myself... oh, yeah, it's
about VIBRATIONS!! I'm going to listen to this.

Sorry, I don't remember the mathematicians name. You'll hear about him. He's
on the faculty of Harvard or Cornell but he's also presenting his theory to
the general public, in terms lay people can understand.

Very exciting. It was exactly as Abraham describes it, except he didn't
mention anything about how thought creates. I was thinking that would make a
good lab experiment! Maybe we should volunteer!!

I didn't see the program mentioned, but I have come across string theory in
my reading. Patricia Schwartz, Ph. D., has an entire web site devoted to
string theory at:

This one has an on-line tutorial to help you understand superstring theory,
too.

And if that's not enough to satisfy your thirst for knowledge in this area,
here's a chat room where you can talk to people who know about these things:

<VBG> Hope you have as much fun with these as I did. Hope nobody thinks
I'm just stringing them along. LOL (pun intended!)

Love and Light,
