The cautionary tale of the broken window.
Never again do you ever need to wonder why you’re not getting to where you want to be. Your emotion always tells you.
There is a window in the hallway [of the meeting center in San Antonio that Jerry and Esther built] that was installed months ago and then it began cracking. It was really quite beautiful. Some people thought it was intentional…spider lines all through the window. And it was a high priority on Jerry and Esther’s list when they left. They left a list of things that they were hoping could be accomplished while they were traveling, and that was one of the first things on the list: call the company that installed these windows and get a replacement.
So their friend and contractor Mike has called several times and not getting much response. The woman would not return his phone call, and he began worrying that they were going to wait until the last minute, and when Jerry and Esther returned, the first thing Esther did was go look at the door. And when the window had not been changed, she had that feeling…that knee jerk reaction, “Well, they’ve waited so long! Where is it? Are they going to let us down?”
But the glass came in and on Friday, the nice men came to replace it. And they took the fractured glass out that was truly a work of art…it came out in many little pieces, and then they carried the big, heavy replacement glass down, down, down to the installation place, and then they discovered that the glass was the wrong size.
Esther’s response to what she saw was not pretty. [audience laughter] Disappointment washed through her. “I am a teacher of deliberate creation,” she is thinking. “What is going wrong?”
And then they said they would bring it Monday. And Esther said, “Monday is too late. My friends [Abraham workshop attendees] will be here Saturday. “
And they said, “It has taken us weeks to get this glass!”
And Esther said, “We know. You wouldn’t return our phone calls. We have been worried that you would wait until the very last minute and now you have done it. You have waited until the very last minute and now it is too late.” Rat-tuh-tat, rat-tuh-tat, rat-tuh-tat. [audience laughter]
Oh, she is not the only one. Everyone around was sort of beating the drum of that.
Mike said, “I knew they would wait until the last minute and something like this would happen.”
And then they came up with a new plan. They would have another, temporary glass cut locally. It wouldn’t be the real thing, but at least the door could close and you would be able to see out the window. You are very important to Jerry and Esther, you know.
And so they brought the glass, and yesterday the man installed it…and broke it while he was installing it. [audience laughter]
Esther said, “Come with me. I have a dungeon for people just like you.” [audience laughter]
And then he said, “No problem. We will go get another glass and will be back this afternoon.”
And Esther said, “Then I will let you out of the dungeon long enough to do that.”
And then Jerry and Esther came back from the day yesterday, and the first thing Esther said was, “Did they get the glass installed?”
And she was told, “Yes, they did. And they broke it again.” [audience laughter]
There is a pattern developing. [laughter] In other words, there is this thing called Law of Attraction [audience laughter] that says, “That which is like unto itself is drawn.” And whatever you’re giving your attention to is so present within your vibration that the Universe moves heaven and earth to accommodate the vibration that you have achieved.
So then Esther (she tries this with us from time to time) said, “Can I not be the one exception in all of the Universe?” [audience laughter] “I’m very good, you know. Isn’t it all right for me to be angry about a broken glass or even anticipate a broken glass or even use it as my excuse to be unhappy with this company? Can I just observe what-is and get what I really want instead ?”
And we say, no one ever does. You cannot be the one exception. You get what your vibration is. And isn’t it nice when something that doesn’t really matter very much demonstrates to you that you get what you think about.
In other words, when you get something activated within your vibration, and then you say to your mate, or you stay to your contractor, or you say to your daughter, or you say to your friend, you say to anyone in the Universe, you say, “I know this is where my vibration is and this is what I’m feeling, but give me something else.” In fact, what most people say, “Give me something that will make me feel better, and then I will feel better.”?
And we say, of course you would feel better if someone could give you something that makes you feel better, but it doesn’t work that way, because what your vibrational frequency is is what you’re tuned in to. So you’re going to get where your vibration is.
So Esther said to the man, after the third breaking, “I take full responsibility for this because I knew you were going to be bad. [laughter] You were just caught up in my vortex. You didn’t stand a chance. You can’t buck my current. I get everything that I think about. And sometimes I think about things that I want.” [laughter]
And that is the point of all of this. This wonderful Universe mirrors back to you how you are…what you think and how you feel, and what manifests is always an exact vibrational match. Always. Every single time.
So you have some options. You can wait till the glass breaks and then clean up your vibration, but oh, it’s so much harder then -- because you’re cleaning up glass along with the vibration. [laughter] It’s much easier to clean up your vibration when it’s in the vibrational stages than it is when it’s in the manifestational stages.
When you feel ornery, when you’ve got negative emotion pulsing through you, it would be much easier for you to clean it up at that emotional level than to wait until the doctors have diagnosed some big old, heavy-handed disease within you. At any point you can clean it up, but it’s just easier to do?
pre-manifestation than?
post-manifestation...
Esther actually started thinking that she would like a piece of cardboard in that window or maybe a piece of plywood…all kinds of things began to occur because she said, "In the long run, it doesn't really matter nearly as much as the amount of grief that I spent on it."
And we say, no matter what it is, we would say that about everything.
