FS: Tektronix probes, calibration fixtures, gadgets
2
These are equipment accessories for which I no longer have the original test equipment, mostly from Tektronix, with a few from HP or Aglient. Some notes: 1. accessories with the notation "NOS" are unused, still in their original packages, including their probe leads and so on. 2. accessories with the notation "working" have been tested for basic functionality on a 350MHz oscilloscope. 3. accessories without the notation "working" are sold as-is because I don't have a way to currently test them. 4. oscilloscope probes do not come with grounds, probe clips, or other add-ons unless explicitly noted. 5. accessories are all in good mechanical condition. the older stuff has the usual knicks and scratches. 6. prices do not include shipping costs, which I will add to the purchasse price when I have your address. 7. accessories are grouped, with a price for the lot given. Sorry but I am not interested in breaking the lots up. 8. acceptable payment methods are Zelle, check, USPS money order, and (reluctantly) Paypal family and friends. Checks and money orders must clear before shipping. 9. buy two groups and take a ten percent discount 10. buy it all and take a twenty percent discount Shipping will be from Portland, Oregon and limited to domestic buyers. Given the current turmoil in the United States, customs and overseas shipping is a non-starter for now. Help Needed- Distortion display using HP334 or equiv.
10
Hi All: a bit off topic, but saw some mention of display of distortion components by John-Paul (in thread about tube scope probes). This was done at Marsntz, and Sequerra back in the day by their analog guy. In the HP 334 manual, there are tantalizing mentions of this ability, and a diagram showing distortion products from a CRT I suspect. However, there is no hookup diagram, nor instructions on how to accomplish this display feat. Hoping someone has information to connect the proverbial dots here. Thanks in advance! Tektronix 1503C EL Display...
12
Greetings all and Merry Christmas. I have a Tektronix 1503C TDR, the one with the EL display. It works fine except that the display is very dim, dimmer than normal. My question is, has anyone here ever had experience replacing the illuminating portion of the display. I don't want to experiment with my unit fearing I could make it worse by destroying the display altogether. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Burt, K6OQK

An excellent fully functional 485 for sale
3
I have a new microscope; It needs shelf space in my study. I also have an old Tektronix 485 in excellent condition. I have not used it in a number of years; replaced its usage with a 2465B and a RTB2004. I¡¯m getting old (nearly 80) and will probably will not go back to using it. It needs and I hope it gets a good and appreciating owner i.e. a new home. I loved it. Clean and sharp display on both channels. I have both of the original probes (with manuals). I also have the cover and handle and probe pouch. The pouch and handle were removed to place it on the shelf - the shelf I want to keep the Scope on. Both handle and pouch are in my study and I would need to find them. I would like $500 + packaging and shipping. I live in Maine; the scope is heavy but exorbitantly so. I would rather sell it here (either Tekscpes or Tekscopes2) and not ebay or whatever. I also have a PDF of the Service and instruction manual with the Rev Dec 1981 addition Thank you for you consideration, larry

Tek 485 Help
21
I have a Tek 485 that I have had and used lightly for 20+ years with no issues. That is until last night. I hadn't used it in couple of months. After turning it on I went to adjust the Intensity and it went totally bright and stuck there. The Intensity flickers when the control is moved, but when left in any position, it's always stable on high. A second symptom simultaneously appeared. The retrace of the beam is not blanked. So, both issues point to a problem with intensity modulation of the beam. I thought I had the service manual for this, but I am unable to find it. I am sure the first thing I need to do is get a copy of this. What is the best source for this? I am a retired electronic engineer, so I have no problem digging into the scope. But I only have one, so I hope I don't need another to troubleshoot this one. Any suggestions on what areas of the circuitry to look at would be appreciated.

Hi All, I do not know where else to post this, but there is an individual in Germany on the Kleinanzeigen Portal selling a cheap and in good condition Tektronix 577. #tektronix475 No Beam, HV Test point @ -500V - 600V DC

#tektronix475
Hi all, I recently acquired a Tektronix 475 oscilloscope. I've been looking to get an analog scope for a while and was really excited to finally pick one up. It was sold as working, but seller wasn't familiar enough with these to realize the display did not work. I'd like to try and fix it, and already got a partial refund for it. It does power on and indicator lights work, and all the controls appear to work as well, but the HV circuit appears to have some sort of problem and I'd really appreciate some guidance in repairing it. There also isn't any CRT noise or glow from the filament. Checking the power rails, all are pretty much spot on, aside from the -2450V point which instead fluctuates quite a bit but reads from about -550V on average. I've already checked the caps around it (C1318, C1374, C1316, C1317) and all are fine, as well as the 1.5A fuse which is also intact. I've inspected for any cracked solder joints to the best of my ability but there's nothing obvious and I already went ahead and re-flowed the few that looked a bit suspicious, but its made no difference. From what I could find it seems like the next step would be check if its the multiplier, but I'd like to avoid taking it apart enough to do this if possible and replacing it doesn't really seem that viable regardless. Does anyone have some advice for anything else it might be or things to check? If there's any measurements you'd like that would help please let me know. Best Regards, Jaden

TEK 494 Spec'y BAND SWITCHING PROBLEM HELP
Hi Everyone, My 494 is stuck in the higher bands (will not switch to 0 to 1.8ghz band) The feed to the S11 and S12 band select relays is stuck on 31v .No change in polarity when you operate the band select push button switches on the front panel. Display shows correct change in bands. I assume the front panel processor drives the relays and changes polarity but i can't find the interface from the processor logic levels to the 31v voltage to drive the relays. Probably right in front of me but can't find it. Any help greatly appreciated from you TEK experts (I am using the PDF's ,of the 494, from the net .......do not have a physical book, so my old eyes are struggling) Best Regards George

Software for the TDS500-600-700 series scopes uploaded!
2
Hi all, I've just uploaded a bunch of software applications for the TDS500/600/700 series scopes. /g/TekScopes2/files/Tektronix%20TDS%20500-600-700%20Scope%20Software/Tek%20TDS%20Scope%20Software%2020241113.zip Some of this (that which isn't technologically obsolete anyway) seems to be rather sought after, so here it is. I bought a CD from a seller on ebay to add to the few apps I already had, so I'll release it for free to give back to the community. I have installed and tested it all on my TDS784D and TDS794D, but check the included readme files for specific compatibility with your scope. You will also need the HD HDD option to install these. Installation is simply a matter of copying the file structure in the zipped file directly to your scope's HDD. Check that readme for details. :) If anyone finds any missing softwares, documentation, different versions, or anything else at all, please do upload it to the linked folder and let me know so I can check it, update the archive and make it available for easy use by anyone. :) I'm particularly interested in a non-Demo version of the Power Analysis software (TDSPWR1) and the Communications Pulse Measurements software (TDSCPM1), also any documentation on the Optical Eye Pattern Measurements software (TDSEYE1) Regards, Jared.

Tek 575 HV transformer
5
Hey Guys! Just a short introduction 'bout me. I'm a Romanian who caught the Tek bug. I managed to score a 556 (which i've gotten almost fully working) a 576(fully working) and a 7104. Fixed a bunch more 400 series scopes and other tek equipment. One of my professors in uni, who's also a dear friend, is a longstanding fan of the 576 and got himself one which is a bit of a lemon, sadly. Bunch of missing panels, dead collector supply knob (managed to fix it with 3D printing, the mechanical assembly at least, but the knobs are still missing) super duper dead caps etc and a slightly burnt in tube. Tackling the problems one at a time, I've ordered caps and parts but I also want to get a hold of two high voltage transformers. The one in his unit seems to be almost dead and mine's the rubber potted one and I'd love to change it. I've read on tekwiki that an industrious user of this forum ordered a bunch of newly made ones. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I'm, of course, willing to pay a fair price + shipping for two units (along with a keg of beer). Lovely meeting y'all and wishing you the all the best, Alex from Romania

2465B Input attenuator
6
Hello all, am working on late SN 2465 B, for museum ( non-profit ) use. has a Blown CH 1 Input attenuator, the ceramic hybrid is broken in pieces. Need a CH 1 Input attenuator TEK part 119-2342-09, OR the set of both CH1 and CH 2 119-2342-09, 119-2342-10, I think that the earlier suffix ODD number CH1 can work: 119-2342-01, 119-2342-05,etc. Alternative is replace the ceramic , TEK part 300-2159-01, input attn. Hybrid Attenuator Chip H2159 The usual sources do not have any CH1. Perhaps someone has parted out a 2465/A/B or 2467/A/B? Am open to any reasonable offer or a swap¡. Can ship via post to USA or EU¡. Please me contact via PM. Many thanks Have an absolutely fantastic day! Jon ARCSI.FR
