2465B Input attenuator 6
Hello all, am working on late SN 2465 B, for museum ( non-profit ) use. has a Blown CH 1 Input attenuator, the ceramic hybrid is broken in pieces. Need a CH 1 Input attenuator TEK part 119-2342-09, OR the set of both CH1 and CH 2 119-2342-09, 119-2342-10, I think that the earlier suffix ODD number CH1 can work: 119-2342-01, 119-2342-05,etc. Alternative is replace the ceramic , TEK part 300-2159-01, input attn. Hybrid Attenuator Chip H2159 The usual sources do not have any CH1. Perhaps someone has parted out a 2465/A/B or 2467/A/B? Am open to any reasonable offer or a swap¡. Can ship via post to USA or EU¡. Please me contact via PM. Many thanks Have an absolutely fantastic day! Jon ARCSI.FR

2445/2465 Input attenuators
Hello all: These models are very similar exept for the bandwidth, 150/350..400 MHz \. Are the input attenuators the same? 119-2342-09, 119-2342-10, 119-2342-01, 119-2342-05 119-1445-04 119-1445-05 The suffex 01/02/04/05/09/10 are relating to CH odd = CH1 even = CH2 Production variations, and interchangable.... I think they use the same Hybrid Attenuator Chip H2159 TEK part 300-2159-01 Many thanks! Jon

Tektronix 577 curve tracer not working properly 9
Hi all, i bought a month ago a tek 577 with a few fixtures, tested a few times and it was working but was a little out of spec, so i¡¯ve dediced to do a little calibration and found out that 2 trimpots weren¡¯t working (the R1245 and R528 ). Ordered some linear ones on digikey and replaced the 1245 one, now when switching the vertical/div from mA to lower ranges the protection light turn on (the dot gets greatly out of range), i don¡¯t believe it was the 1245 that i¡¯ve replaced maybe the preamp in the 177 or the amp inside the 577? I don¡¯t have much time testing all the components, do you have any idea? In addition the 200 volt line on the power board is at around 218v¡ Thanks in advance

Tek DPO70804
I have this scope here and it is doing weird things. First thing is when the Diagnostics are run, it displays a couple errors. "Processor" displays Result 114 with 1 Failure Count. "Acquisition" displays Result of 331 with 2 Failure Counts. When each individual channel is turned on by itself, each appears to work OK. But if more than one channel is on at the same time, it gets screwy. With Channels 1 and 2 on at the same time, it will not display Channel 2; it only displays the Channel 1 input. Any channel will only be displayed if the trigger input is set to a different channel than the one I want displayed. Any ideas about what the trouble is or what I should do? Zack

Tektronix 2465A CT issues 9
I posted this on the EEVBlog's gigantic thread but have gotten no replies, hopefully I'll get some hits here: Hi all, I'm also a "happy" owner of a 2465A CT. I was having issues with the display jumping all over the place: https://youtu.be/g6iKEVwqY9M So I took it apart to recap the boards, but then I decided to put it together so I could get the CAL constants before recaping the boards, however, now I get an error message and no traces and the LEDS above the display (LOCK-SRQ-REM) don't light up: https://youtu.be/q4gS29u1FuY?si=lmVH3ULfq2Pwa76U From your experience, did I re-connect something wrong (maybe a connector backwards?), or did one of the boards go bad? I wasn't having any other issues before other than the display jumping. The manual says TEST 05 FAIL 24 is ADD Main Board - Positive Level is not Positive Enough. I didn't touch the High Voltage Power supply or the board that's underneath the O'scope, originally I only removed the 2 boards from inside and the one on the side with the NVRAM battery. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, George

water splashed on face of scope (TDS754C) 8
You'd think it's Friday so time to wind down, so as you do that, you stand up pushing the rolling chair against the narrow space at your bench and your large mug with cold water resting right behind you tips over, right onto the face of your project 754C which was resting down on the floor, fan side down. I've wiped it as much as I could with some cloth towels and paper ones too, after tilting it face down onto another cloth, so all that water would seep straight down into the dry cloth. There was water even in the wells of the inputs, which I promptly dried with a paper towel rolled thinly. Anything else I should worry about? Is this much less of a deal than I tend to think right now? Much more? The scope wasn't powered or anything, of course. Just being stored on the floor. Thank you. Radu.

Tek 2465 for sale 3
I have a 2465 that I have mostly restored for sale with 4 probes. It's been de-RIFAd, the power supply recapped, the blower replaced by a fan, and the infamous U800 replaced with a RU800v2. It's reasonably well-calibrated and ready to use. I'm asking $400 picked up (or could ship then add the actual shipping and insurance of around $100). I will post some pix in a little while. Dave

Tektronix TDS 460A Digital O Scope power cycling 2
Symptom: I have a Textronix TDS 460A Digital O Scope that worked fine at last use. Unit was unused for about 4 ¨C 6 months. Upon power up the CRT screen lights up and the ¡°clock¡± emoji is present on the screen. The front panel lights flash and you can hear the relays cycling. The fan runs. After about 10 seconds the unit goes into a cycling state, cycling on and off every two or three seconds. Each time it powers the fan runs and the panel lights flash. You can hear a ticking sound that seems to decrease in volume as time passes. Question: The troubleshooting procedures decision points ask, ¡°Does the oscilloscope power up.¡± Does the fact the unit powers up for 2 seconds repeatedly constitute ¡°power up¡±. If it does You move beyond the Backplane board. If it does not, you are looking at either a LVPS A25, Front Panel A06, Backplane A01, or Aux Power Board A07 failure/replacement. Troubleshooting: 1. Checked the voltage of the two 3V batteries. a. Battery to A03 CPU Assy. Read 2.04V b. Battery to A09 DSP Assy. Read 3.0V c. Reversed batteries on reinstallation. No change in symptoms. 2. Verified 115V AC at pins 1 & 3 of J! on LVPS. (Aux Pwr board to LVPS) 3. Performed the LVPS troubling shooting procedure (Fig 6-31 pp 6-78) a. Checked voltages (Table 6-11, pp 6-79) b. All well below spec. in millivolts.. c. Coming down left side all answers are ¡°yes¡± except last question (Are secondary voltages within Spec (Table 6-11, pp 6-79). d. Procedure would indicate that the issue is not with the A25 LVPS. 4. Disconnected white wire between Aux. Pwr. Board and LVPS Board. a. No change in performance or symptoms. Remade connection. 5. Disconnected plug from J2 (22 pin connector on A25 LVPS board). a. No change in performance or symptoms. Remade connection. 6. Pulled the LVPS board from scope. a. No obvious problem. No corrosion, no swollen E caps, no burn sites. b. Checked E caps in circuit with a MESR meter. Seemed ok. c. Read something about R410 (1M). Read it while in circuit and it appeared to be open. Planning on removing one side from circuit and read again. 7. Performed the Backplane trouble shooting procedure (Fig. 6-46 pp 6-92) a. Again, the question goes to what constitutes ¡°power up.¡± i. If ¡°yes¡± could be issue is elsewhere. ii. If ¡°no¡± could be problem with A25 LVPS, A06 Front Panel, A01 Backplane, or A07 Aux. Pwr. Board. 8. Pulled A03 CPU, A02 Display Assy., and A09 DSP Assy. a. No obvious problem. No corrosion, no swollen E caps, no burn sites. b. Reinstalled all three. 9. Visually inspected A01 Backplane board while Ao3, A02 and A07 out a. No obvious problem. No corrosion, no swollen E caps, no burn sites. I'd appreciate any advice, insight, and ideas on where to go from here. For info, you are talking to a mechanical guy. If it had oil or water leaking out or made a grinding noise I could figure it out. Thanks, 73 Harrison N1FAM

Tektronix 585 Restoration 7
I¡¯ve been working on this 585 for a while now and I¡¯m finally making progress. A little backstory; I bought this from a fine gentleman with the understanding that it wasn¡¯t working and may never work. When it arrived the CRT was shattered in shipping, which sucked because it was a P2. Anyways, ordered a ¡°new¡± CRT off of eBay and no trace, no nothing. Tinkered with it a little bit, rebuilt the HV supply and nothing. Put it under the bench for a few weeks. Today I decided to get it out and play with it some more. Turned it on, and lo and behold, the CRT showed life! Checked voltages and had the 325 and 500 way off, swapped some tubes around and got that sorted. Now everything¡¯s back to normal but still no trace, just a ¡°bloom¡± on the CRT. I¡¯m at my wit¡¯s end now because I can¡¯t seem to get a trace. To me, it¡¯s almost like the trace is off the screen and I¡¯m getting reflections. The ¡°bloom¡± will pulse with the time base, so it¡¯s trying to work. The best way I can describe the ¡°bloom¡± is a mushroom cloud. Any ideas?

They seem specialized so maybe a factory setting? They do not fit Bell system "phone jacks".

Does anyone have any of the PM40x CPU Personality Modules for the Tek 1220/25/30 logic analyzers ?
Given a million years I would have never thought these were so hard to track down. I have the PM403 for the 6502. I'm looking for others, primarily the PM406 and PM407 for the 6800/6809. If you have one or more, *PLEASE* get in touch. Buying them would be great, but if you don't want to part with them you could still be of great help by providing PCB photos and dumps of the EPROMs. I will, of course, be happy to reciprocate. The goal here is, in part, to determine the extent to which these pods can be reconfigured for the other processors. Thanks much. Jonathan
