That is exactly what I did long before the idea of writing back the cal data to the RAM originated.
Based on some posts that suggested that instead of doing a full calibration, I should just do the
automatic calibration procedure as outlined in the manual starting on page 5-12, I started the
process but then decided against it and quit without making any changes. I just checked on my
scope and I can confirm that one can enter the cal process even if the checksum fails.
