Type 531 parting out

I recently helped clean out a shop for a retired EE, and was given a Type 531 oscilloscope. It powers on, and the CRT shows a trace. However, I don't have any probes to determine functionality. At 60 some-odd pounds, this thing is a beast. Although the case is pretty rough, I will part it out, if anyone wants knobs, tubes, CRT, sub boards, etc.

Regards,
Davis

What's your location?

If you're within a fifty mile radius of Derby, UK, I'll come get the lot if you're willing to part with it whole. Thanks!

I'm guessing you're not, though.

So, no interest expressed in the Type 531 scope....will probably drag it to the salvage yard. Hate to see it go, would have loved to see it help other similar scopes restored, but I have no use for it. I live near Atlanta, Ga...and am willing to meet someone within 75 miles, or UPS parts, as long as you pay shipping. Bottom line is - it's gotta go soon.

If you're parting it out and don't mind posting stuff to Australia i wouldn't mind a few bits. I'd like the HV transformer and the "Graham Cracker" non inductive resistors from the final stage of the Y amplifier. I'm happy to pay for postage.

Let me know by email to vilgotch1 (at) gmail dot com.

Thanks,

Morris

Hello Morris,
I¡¯d also like some ¡°restoration¡± bits of that unit is (unfortunately) going
to get scrapped.
I¡¯d be happy to contribute to the postage if the chosen bits could be bulk
shipped.
It would depend on the amount of pain induced by the U.S. postage costs!
Please let me know and I¡¯ll start by checking out common parts & structural
bits between the 531 and my other 54* series scopes in the restoration
queue.

Cheers,
Rick
