Thank You

Matt Jodz

A grateful thank you to all who took the time to read and answer my newbie questions about the 454/475 selection and the differences in the 465 and 465B.? Hopefully I will now be a little less dumb!!? Thanks again.
Matt

Matt,
"Dumb" is not the word; "inexperienced" or "ignorant" (ie, lacking the specific knowledge) is something we all are in the beginning. Then we take it apart and we become experts!

how boring life would be if one knew everything about everything. the discovery experience is to be prized and encouraged. this forum scores pretty highly in that regard. being helped and being able to help is a win win. can't do one without the other.

Absolutely. Sometimes it takes your breath away. Maybe 8 years ago I
purchased a 7854, and in trace acquisition it just ran and ran, never
finishing. Looked like a really tricky problem so I asked the list. "Aha -
sounds like the horizontal sampling bridge!" says one of the list members -
whereupon to validate his instant diagnosis, he tore into his own 7854 and
disconnected one of the sampling bridge leads. He was absolutely correct.
Four HP schottky barrier diodes later the scope sprang to life.
