Software for the TDS500-600-700 series scopes uploaded!

Hi all,

I've just uploaded a bunch of software applications for the TDS500/600/700 series scopes.

/g/TekScopes/files/Tektronix%20TDS%20500-600-700%20Scope%20Software

Some of this (that which isn't technologically obsolete anyway) seems to be rather sought after, so here it is. I bought a CD from a seller on ebay to add to the few apps I already had, so I'll release it for free to give back to the community.

I have installed and tested it all on my TDS784D and TDS794D, but check the included readme files for specific compatibility with your scope. You will also need the HD HDD option to install these.
Installation is simply a matter of copying the file structure in the zipped file directly to your scope's HDD. Check that readme for details. :)

If anyone finds any missing softwares, documentation, different versions, or anything else at all, please do upload it to the linked folder and let me know so I can check it, update the archive and make it available for easy use by anyone. :)
I'm particularly interested in a non-Demo version of the Power Analysis software (TDSPWR1) and the Communications Pulse Measurements software (TDSCPM1), also any documentation on the Optical Eye Pattern Measurements software (TDSEYE1)

Regards,
Jared.

Outstanding! Thanks for sharing Jared.

I didn't know that all these models had the HDD option.
I knew the 7 series did, but didn't know the 5 & 6 series did also.

Apparently the HD option can be installed in most models, but I would guess that original customers who were cost optimising down to the 500 series would rarely then spring for the HD option.

Unfortunately I don't think I can ever see or use these programs - I have a TDS754 something that I upgraded somewhat years ago using info from various discussions. I too have never heard of any HDD stuff on these models. Is there any info about putting one in?

The main question I have is if there are any utility type programs included, for calibration, servicing, or upgrading the TDS line. I've heard of such things but don't know any details. My TDS754 worked OK years ago, and probably still does. I have a TDS820 sampling scope that I got years ago that didn't work because it had the capacitor rot problem that ruined the acquisition board. After treatment, I still couldn't get it to do anything except report errors, and I found zero info on it. For a while I thought some service type utilities might be able to help figure out what's wrong.

Ed

Yeah, unfortunately most of the software is aimed at the C and D prefix models.

I'd love to get my hands on a TDS800 series scope, but I've only seen one for sale here in Japan so far, and it sold for much more than I could justify especially as it had no probes, and probes can get pricey....

Jared Ive been following your work/input on the TDS family for a few years now I think. Its been a tremendous help.
Thanks for sharing.

Good on ya' for that, Jared. I have a TDS754D with the HD option, I'll double check the hard drive and see if there's anything on it you don't have.

I wholeheartedly agree with acknowledging Jared's contributions. He's been
very helpful, on here, other communities, and also at a personal level.
Thanks a ton, Jared!
