Tektronix vintage equipment in SciFi movies - even in the year 2019. A type 465M appeared in "The Emissary"
Good Day to the group,
I trust everybody has made it well into the New Year. This might amuse you... We have been chatting on the subject of Tektronix (and other) vintage T&M equipment that's showing up in SciFi movies. Now... It seems that even in the year 2019, film makers consider CRT-oscilloscopes as a great setup for SciFi movies! Here is a screenshot taken from the DUST SciFi movie "The Emissary", that features several Tektronix oscilloscopes (and other vintage test gear) in some scenes: /g/TekScopes/photo/271466/3361750 I would identify the most prominent device on the right of the actor as a Tektronix type 465M CRT oscilloscope, but others might well correct me on this. This is at 13:00 min. into the movie. Full movie here: (Side note: I think that's quite a good story and it's *not* 3+ hours long as other epic SciFi movies...) Cheers, Magnus |
I was just thinking about this the other night.? I got the urge to watch "Buckaroo Banzai- Across the Eight Dimension" (don't ask me why...). and I spotted a pair of 465 or similar scopes on carts.??
