2465B Blue Screen Filter - 378-0270-00
My 'new to me' 2465B, S/N B067xxx, arrived minus the Blue Screen Filter, P/N 378-0270-00, as best I can tell from the manual. It appears that they are 'rare' though I found a substitute on theBay, item 171285732779, in Australia.
It appears to be working correctly and I would like to add the filter and the front cover if I can find them in the US. Is there a suggestion of a source for the acrylic that I might find to be able to make my own filter? Does anyone have a 'spare' filter or front cover (P/N 200-2779-00, as best I can tell from the manual) that they are willing to part with? Thanks in advance. Joe |

the exact blue material made (at a cost of $1000 I think!). His name is Victor Silva and he still checks on Tekscopes once in awhile. Those blue filters need to be cut to a very exact size because of how they fit into the 24x5's. As for the 24x5 front covers, they are on eBay regularly but you have to step up and pay a fair price for them. You need the later style front cover without the latches on the sides for a 2465B. Hi Tom,
Your memory serves you correctly. The cast blue acrylic that is 0.030" thick is very difficult to find. I did buy a special order at a very high cost (>$1000) and then sold off pre-made filters to recoup my cost of the raw material. The remaining dwindling stock I use for my own refurbished scopes that I sell. When someone sells filters on ebay I usually order one just to see what someone else has done. The filters from Australia are thicker that the original Tek 0.030" and will not float in the bezel. So they need to be taped into the bezel because they will not work with the spring. In addition the very tight horizontal dimensions are not maintained - so again the need to tape the filter in place since it will not fit in the bezel properly. I would be willing to sell a filter to groups members through epay for around $15. --Victor |
The front covers that Tom mentioned do come up on ebay. I usually pick them up when they are <$50 total with shipping.
So be prepared to pay at least that for a cover. There was one up there recently for a long time for $99.99 + S&H. It did eventually sell, so you can see you have some competition. --Victor |

I would like to purchase 3 of your filters. I purchased one of the filters from Australia and, as you described, they 'do not fit'. I tried to reply via PM but didn't go through. Thanks. Joe -----Original Message-----
