Looks like you're hitting a computer belonging to the Polytechnic Institute in Gdansk. Most likely in the Applied Physics department.

Just the Tektronix and HP parts are about half of the total and I
already had those so I topped off with a couple of other sections and

I was disappointed that this repository did not have any Meratronik
manuals, it being Polish and all. I have this Meratronik E318
automatic RLC bridge sitting here for many years, even bought the
manual from Rainer F?rtig (at great expense!) only to discover the
very page missing where the fault lies.

very nice HP bridge as well. The Meratronik is so inferior it barely
warrants fixing, but to think how much I looked for this manual many

bandwidth is limited but I have no problem leaving it running
indefinitely and if you need a particular section quickly, most
torrent clients can be set to download just one part or one part
first.

I prefer using bittorrent for big file collections because it is a set
and forget type of operation.

I clearly remember those times when a manual on some rather esoteric machine was virtually unavailable. Just completed a two-year search for a manual on an airborne time code generator that has a few problems. But, as you did, after i found it, I quickly discovered the manual I obtained (from only one available source found so far) is for the very same unit but it appears to have gone through numerous engineering revisions that weren't quite documented therefore the effort resulted in tracing wiring and reverse engineering printed circuit boards. But isn't that why our interest lies in these areas with regards to older equipment??

I keep several bridges lying around from Marconi, GR, HP and Stanford Research that cover numerous decades of history. The idea is to keep a "mental calibration table" in your head when you grab one of them so you know what accuracy to expect. And it also depends on what accuracy you are looking for or if you simply need a "fix" sniffing the odor of burning dust on vacuum tubes inside the bridge. Nostalgia speaking here.

I'm sure that you, as well as other readers in this forum can relate to wanting a piece of equipment but not either being able to afford it or find one available for extremely long periods of time (years?). In an off-topic note, back in the early 70's I worked in a lab where I had access to a HP 141T mainframe spectrum analyzer. Of course in those days these machines were quite expensive and any used ones that came up were much the same cost-wise. But I wanted one for home.

Year after year I kept my eyes open for an affordable one. But as the years rolled by, the ones that appeared were becoming more the worst for wear and tear. But I was patient. Then about 6 years later I happened to be glancing through a US Gov’t surplus sale flyer and noticed something. The VA Hospital had listed a spectrum analyzer but under the model number, they entered the serial number instead. Having knowledge of the HP serial numbering system I immediately knew that it was a 141T and called the property officer at the site where it was located. After requesting additional identification regarding the plug-ins in the unit she commented that she could not go to the warehouse at that time because she was pregnant and was leaving for her time off due to the impending delivery and would not be back until after the sale ended. And I was not privy to a site visit.

Sooo… I took a chance believing that few people would know the model of this machine and threw in a bid of $75.00. And I won it. When I went to pick it up, I found out that the VA Hospital had purchased it for a short-term project, used it for 6 months, wrapped it in plastic and put it in the warehouse where it remained until that day. The unit was virtually new and it is still on one of my benches alongside newer Advantest and HP units.

This site has been a well known "secret"!!??!! for quite some time (I have had a link to it for about 8 months)

However i presume the reluctance to publish its existence has come from what has now happened here!

As soon as repositories like this are published, then hundreds of people start "mass downloading" of the data, which soon overwhelms the server, resulting in the server being closed down, unless the host pays additional hosting costs.
Usually the host person gives up and the repository disappears.

I have so many links to individuals who start hosting technical documents, that are no longer valid, for I presume the same reason.

I have always treated resources like this one with "fair usage" and just downloaded the documents relevant to my collection, and when possible thanked the person who hosted them.

Fortunately I think in this case the hosting system is big enough to survive this massed download that is occurring, but it would be a tragedy if the host withdrew the resource due to apparent greed of individuals wanting it ALL.
