7623A PI stuck

Just tried to swap the farthest right plugin to get XY on one of my 7623As and it won't budge.
The pull release seems OK.
What can I try next?

Thanks,
Bert

Would it help to take the side cover off of the 7623?

Press your thumbs against the bottom corners of the plug-in's front panel and push it inward as hard as you can. Push the release handle all the way in if it isn't already. Then gently pull the release handle out with your right hand, and with your left hand fingertips, reach around the back of the plug-in and pull it outward - you may have to jiggle things around a bit. Make sure the power is off, of course.

If this doesn't work, I think you can remove the plug-in's side panel while it's in there, so you can see the top of the mechanism and try to work it from there. First study another plug-in to see how it's supposed to work.

Once you get it out, inspect for deformed or missing parts, and compare to another plug-in. Also check the slide rail in the mainframe.

If all else fails, I've managed to remove a stuck plug-in by upending the scope and removing the bottom panel. It's then possible to dismantle some of the runner assembly and with some gentle bending remove the module. I can't give chapter & verse from memory, but it did work.

Connect a BNC Tee to the lowest, most central connector. 2 fingers around
that and your thumb against the bottom of the mainframe while operating the
release with your other hand should be enough pressure and also give you a
better feel for what's going on. This is especially helpful for big
plug-ins like the 7D20.

Is there another plugin next to the stuck one ?Sometimes, if a PI side panel is not installed correctly, the front edge can get caught on an adjacent plugin, or on the left edge of the mainframe.

I had that a time or two on the Tek rack scopes..After prying the first one out I found it was one of the bottom (or top) cover screws just a hair too long, effectively locking the plugin into the frame..and..OT(tek) on an HP180 for example, if you put the wrong/longer cover screws into certain locations they will shatter the plastic plugin rail which holds the Vertical Plate slide contacts..Way bad..A Very Nice fellow in the UK actually pulled a parts unit down and sent me the rail, which includes the plate interconnect tranmission line..it looks like it unplugs but don't do it, theres a hair fine conductor involved....Carry on ..:)?
